Overall my wife and I were very satisfied with this guest house. It's a grand building in a pretty location, easy to find and surrounded by lovely Dartmoor countryside. The host and his wife were welcoming, friendly and helpful with local information, maps, walks, etc.
Three little niggles:
1) We chose this particular place because it offered dinner as well as B&B. However, when we arrived and enquired about an evening meal we were told it needed to be booked well in advance. This is not made clear in the listing, as far as I can see.
2) The heating in our room wasn't switched on until we moved into it so we had quite a chilly initial half hour. After that, it was fine.
3) Our ensuite bathroom only had a hand shower in the bath on a pedestal and the water temperature fluctuated between hot and cold frequently. As a tall bloke I found having a shower awkward and uncomfortable - and messy!
