We arrived in Colombo and our driver from the hotel was waiting for us with a big smile on his face. We went straight to Aathma (means soul in Sanskrit and boy did it have soul!!) The Galle Face Hotel is a truly exceptional place to stay. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Colombo and on the beach. The actual building is beautfiul, a majestic old colonial. The rooms are spacious and airy. The staff and service are second to none. There is a lovely salt water pool and a gym - plus great bar and restaurant.

stayed here on the last day of our trip. This was an exceptional hotel. Clean, modern and the attention to detail is surperb. From the moment we walked through the door Shamin and Nethmi looked after us. They made check in a breeze, cold towels on arrival and a lovely refreshing drink. They took us to our room, and showed us around the magnificent hotel. Great hotel and restaurant, friendly and helpful staff, clean

From checkin to checkout and inbetween the staff were extremely polite and helpful. Always smiling and never too busy to stop and say hello. Reception staff were extremely courteous and willing to help no matter what the request was. A very happy and positive vibe all throughout the hotel. Excellent breakfast. Conveniently located. Love this hotel - room is small but functional and clean. The staff are lovely and helpful. After going around Sri Lanka and experiencing different level of service and professionalism in other places, it was a breath of fresh air! The staff at the rooftop bar are especially awesome - no matter how busy they are. Keep it up guys!
