"We stayed at grandmas for one week while volunteering at the dog sanctuary in town and we are very happy we chose to stay there. Grandma is very kind, inviting, and lovely to talk to. Her daughter is a ball of joy and very intelligent. The breakfast is top notch! We had fried rice and also some special Burmese cuisine. "Loved it , they hire Scooters which is unreal . they have a small restaurant which had a a few good options , the staff where amazing . Its a about a 15 minute walk to the railway station and a 15 minute walk through some little ally ways to some awesome Pagodas that have great views . I will definitely return to Mawlamyine again and stay here ."

"Rooms are not designed well. Especially the bathrooms. Shower head is placed at the door. Tub was under construction. Sink was behind the door. No thinking involved in planning the layout. Hot drinks at breakfast labeled only in burmese. Breakfast marginal. Spa adequate but no English spoken so hard to communicate needs. "

"We stay in Royal Hintar every year when we go to Mawlamyine. The staff is very courteous and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and provide all the amenities you need. The breakfast buffet is great with big variety of items to choose from. We only had good experiences in this hotel."

"Sangkla resort is nice clean place to stay in Sangklaburi, with friendly accommodating staff, but travellers staying at this resort must have their own transport to visit the local tourist attractions. Breakfast was very good for Asian food. Western style food was more limited but adequate. The only downside was that fried eggs are not kept warm ! "
