"A lovely building in a beautiful setting…but a few issues. On our arrival we discovered the spa treatments and massage facilities were fully booked for a week ahead although the hotel was not busy. Apparently local clients and day visitors take all the appointments which is fine except that the facilities are advertised as part of the hotel yet it was impossible to make a booking. Our room was well/furnished and comfortable but there were no amenities like slippers or gowns, although there was air conditioning, a kettle and an empty fridge. No bathroom amenities apart from a tube of shampoo and the tissue dispenser was empty. The Trattoria restaurant was very good, the pirogis were exceptional and there’s a good wine list. We’d arrived after driving direct from Nürnberg so I was ready for the spa and was disappointed to find it wasn’t available, particularly as the hotel is quite a long way from the A4 and we’d driven out of our way to get there. Oh well, might try again another time."
