About this property

Garth Cottage

  • Garth Cottage is a spacious detached stone cottage dating back to 1824, set down a quiet country lane just four miles from Denbigh. Surrounded by rolling countryside with views towards the Clwydian Range and Moel Famau, it provides a peaceful base for families and groups looking to explore North Wales.

The cottage offers two comfortable sitting rooms, with a woodburning stove in the ground floor inglenook fireplace and an electric fire in the first floor lounge, which opens onto a balcony with views across the surrounding countryside towards the Clwydian Range and Moel Famau. The spacious kitchen and dining area is fully equipped with an electric range oven, gas hob, Ninja air fryer, George Foreman grill, slow cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, wine fridge, dishwasher and coffee machine. A utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, together with front and rear porches, provides plenty of practical space for longer stays.

The cottage sleeps up to 13 guests across five bedrooms, with four on the ground floor and one family bedroom upstairs. The ground floor includes a super king bedroom with en-suite shower room, a king bedroom, a twin room and a single bedroom, while the first floor has two single beds and a bunk bed. Two fold-up beds are available on request for added flexibility. A family bathroom features a bath with a handheld shower, a separate walk-in shower, basin and WC, while an additional ground floor WC is also provided.

Outside, the large enclosed garden offers plenty of space to relax, with outdoor seating for up to 13 guests to enjoy the peaceful rural setting. The undercover barn provides a games area with table tennis and table football, while secure bike storage makes Garth Cottage an excellent choice for cyclists exploring the nearby Denbigh Moors and surrounding countryside.

Up to four well-behaved dogs are welcome, and there is off-road parking for five cars.

A hot tub can also be hired locally ahead of your stay, with delivery, setup and collection all arranged for you.

The nearest shop and pub are around three miles away, while the historic market town of Denbigh offers a range of independent shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants, as well as the impressive remains of Denbigh Castle.

For outdoor enthusiasts, there are countless walking and cycling routes across the nearby Denbigh Moors, around Llyn Brenig and through the beautiful Vale of Clwyd, with the Clwydian Range right on the doorstep.

Within 30- 45 minutes of Garth Cottage, you can also enjoy a fantastic range of attractions and activities, including Bodnant Gardens, Trefriw Woollen Mills, Offa's Dyke, Moel Famau and The Pilgrim's Way. For those seeking adventure, there’s also the Adventure Park in Dolgarrog, ziplining in the Conwy Valley, canoeing in Bala and white-water rafting in Llangollen — ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Garth Cottage is perfectly positioned for exploring this stunning region, which was named the fourth-best region in the world to visit by Lonely Planet Traveller magazine in 2017.

A little known 'crown jewel' down a nearby lane is the 1950's Museum which is a private collection of artifacts and memorabilia relating to the 1950's belonging to 'Sparrow' Harrison. The classic car collection includes: Christine Keeler's car, the Great Train Robbery getaway lorry and other cars. The collection has everything from home-life and shops, entertainment and films and even a 1950's coffee bar and juke box. There is also a working farm, community orchard, woodland walks and picnic area. There is an admission charge but well worth it for any senior members of your party that want to wallow in nostalgia
