We have stayed in many vacation homes and I will say this was one of the best. The place was very clean, in great shape and is described on the site just as it is in person. Chris the owner is excellent. He is very responsive and had some great suggestions on things to do. One of the best experiences we have had. Highly recommend!

Everything you need!
Great location for a summer getaway. Quite location, close to all the hiking trails you would want. The house had all we needed. The WiFi is extremely spotty but...it’s vacation. When the Apple TV didn’t work we watched movies in the evening after a day out and about. Thanks for letting our dog join us too!

Beautiful, comfortable, clean, well-located cottage in the woods with one caveat
Unfortunately, we were there while the air quality was at its worst and we couldn't even see the mountains, so our planned hiking vacation was altered because of this. We did hike along the Nooksak River trail, which was conveniently close to the house, and was beautiful even without a mountain vista. The house was clean, comfortable, well-appointed and had everything we needed. There were only two of us so we didn't use the upstairs, but there was another queen bedroom up there as well as a bath. Also there were two charming twin beds in an alcove outside the second floor bedroom.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that this is not the place for you if you have a sensitivity to fragrance. Everything in the house, from furniture to sheets, pillows, towels, etc, reeked of fragrance-infused cleaning products. Even the hand soap was perfumed. At first I developed a headache — it took at least a day to get used to the reek. We loved the cabin but would be unable to stay there again. I know not everyone is sensitive to fragrance, and some people love it, so I'm certainly not recommending avoiding the cabin. Also, we had to keep the windows closed because of the outdoor air quality from the fires. To sum up, this was a lovely, spacious cabin in a great location, but not suitable for fragrance-sensitive guests.
We had a great time staying 4 nights in the cabin. It was just what we needed for a few days of skiing on Mt Baker. Cabin was well stocked, internet worked great, quiet neighborhood, had all the kitchen items we needed. Some ideas for folks staying there, get all the food you will need on your way either in Bellingham or Burlington. There are a couple of small grocery stores, the larger one in Maple Falls but best to bring what you need. Take a walk around the neighborhood, it is nice, and the people are friendly. For skiers, it takes about 35 minutes to get to Mt Baker. Most of the road is good but the last few miles are curvy and rough. The Skiing at Baker is excellent, we had fresh powder all 3 days and the last day the sun came out and the views are amazing.
We loved staying at this cabin. The place was very clean, the decor is lovely, and the overlook from the second floor looking down to the living room area is a delight. The kids really enjoyed the fun train-car-style beds too. We look forward to another trip and staying here in the future.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Cabin! It was the perfect location for our family of four to enjoy each other's company for a couple of days and get up to the ski slopes first thing in the morning. Chris was super responsive to some questions we had during our stay and worked hard to make sure we had what we needed. He was an amazing host!
A simple and very functional cabin. Nicely decorated in wood, bright white, and nature theme. Very functional kitchen. The only downside was that it was cold when we got there (outside temp in the 20s) and the place took a few hours to warm up.
The layout of the cabin was perfect for us. Very comfortable, clean, and well stocked. If you have kids they will LOVE the bunks. We all wished we could stay longer. Highly recommend!
Needed some maintenance, but owner very receptive to input. Hopefully he was able to follow through. We loved the little cabin and the location was great for hiking in the area. Quiet neighborhood. Would return in the future.
This cabin was perfect for our needs while visiting the Mt Baker area. Close enough to Mt Baker and for spending the day at the coast. Very cozy. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Lovely spot, well located, tidy and super comfy. Owner was immediately available and responsive. House was very well stocked (esp kitchen supplies!) and it is in a great location for proximity to great hikes. Would definitely stay there again.
Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate with us for this trip, but luckily we had this lovely cabin to stay in! I really appreciated how well stocked it was - they even had bear spray and a NW forest pass. Everything was clean and the large grass lawn was great for our dog.
The cabin is very well maintain and communications with the property owner were exceptional - Chris provided directions on how to find the cabin, the code for entry and clear directions on how to prepare the cabin upon departure. The cabin is nestled within a forested community with other cabins/homes and has easy access to local towns for groceries/wine/beer. The cabin is also well situated for hiking and breathtaking scenery around Mount Baker. Overall a great place to spend time with family and pets. The internet was exceptional while we were there (wish we had stayed longer!), as we was able to both live stream and email over the weekend.
The only reason this didn’t get consistent 5 stars is the email we received about our arrival had an incorrect contact number and cell reception is either spotty or non-existent so getting the key access was a bit confusing.
The accommodations were great and very well equipped.
We’d definitely stay here again.
The cabin fully met all expectations! Definitely would rent this place again. A nice surprise was the neighborhood location has quiet low-traffic roads for peaceful dog walks in the mornings & evenings. The owner, Chris, was very responsive.
We stayed for a couple nights and wish we would have booked the entire week! The location is perfect for hiking the mount baker wilderness and north cascades. The cabin is comfortable and quite and was perfect for our family. We may have to be coming back for a ski trip!
All the reviews are on point. The moment you pull onto the property, normal life leaves you. The house is inviting, warm and what a “mountain cabin” should feel. It was such a magical stay. The amount of walking/hiking we did just from our house was awesome. Then to behold Mt. Baker and Mt. Shukaan… Wow!! The bathroom downstairs is great and I felt like I was in my kitchen at home while cooking. Easy access to gas, food and most anything else. North Fork Brewery is highly recommended! You WILL NOT be disappointed at all by this incredible and amazing property. We are already thinking about booking for next year. Chris, the host is wonderful and we are thankful he has such a rad place. Thanks so much🖤
