Grandma B’s House: Victorian 3BR Near KC Weddings & WC26

Welcome to Grandma B's House, a 1920's Victorian farmhouse in the small town of De Soto, KS in our quaint downtown area with parks, shopping, restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. De Soto is located an easy 15-20 minute drive from the larger communities of Lawrence & Kansas City Metro.

This three bedroom, 2 bath home is comfortably decorated with antiques and vintage pieces to help you reminisce of days gone by. Experience the nostalgia of small town Kansas.

The home has been recently renovated to add modern conveniences while keeping the original charm of 1920's America.

Enjoy coffee on the front or back covered front porches or walk downtown for a fresh cup. On the first floor you will find an formal living and dining rooms, updated kitchen and full bath with shower over tub. The living room features a sleeper sofa, comfy chair, smart TV, vintage radio with record player, games and a little free library. A gorgeous glass chandelier will greet you in the formal dining room with seating for eight as well as a window seat and dedicated workspace with desk, lamp, adjustable height chair and router. Our farmhouse kitchen is fully stocked, complete with a coffee and tea bar and has room at the island for a quick breakfast or extra helpers to sit and chat.

Upstairs are three private bedrooms with closets and a hall bathroom with a tiled shower.

Please note that both entrances to the home have steps. On the main level there is a full bath, sofa, and a sleeper sofa, but all bedrooms are on the second level and require guests to be able to climb a full staircase. Guests are required to sign a simple rental agreement prior to accessing the home.

We had a wedding at cedar valley forest & the home was the perfect place to stay. We enjoyed all the antiques! We were able to walk to downtown & enjoy a beer at the new Force of Nature brewery. So fun..a must

A Special Place

Quick response on any questions; beautiful, historic home; comfortable furnishings; quiet;All was good from Grandma B’s picture in front of the house to the chandelier in the dining room. It is a special place and convenient to attractions all over the KC and Lawrence area. I highly recommend this property. It was a treat.

Quaint and comfortable!

Nice historic home in a great location. Very clean, with every amenity needed. King bed was very comfortable! Only concern was a heavy perfume/air freshener that aggravated our allergies. Check in/check out was super easy, and we especially appreciated the snow removal and ice melt!

Beautiful Home

Grandma B’s is a beautifully updated old house. My family and I enjoyed our stay and the location is great. The sleeping pillows were extremely flat and uncomfortable so I do suggest bringing your own pillow from home. The house was very clean and we felt at home during our time there.

Perfect Getaway

I stayed here with four of my friends, and we had a girls night out with a Pride and Prejudice theme. This house is actually cuter in person than it is on the website. I highly recommend it It was super clean and super enjoyable. Angela was amazing and super helpful during our stay, and I actually think I may try to stay here again it was so much fun! Such a cute place and such a sweet town.

Excellent!

We were in De Soto to visit family. We really enjoyed our stay at Grandma B's - it was perfect for us. It was comfortable, clean, & well equipped in every way. It is an historic type of house that has been nicely updated & decorated while maintaining it's character. The bed was super comfy. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch one of the mild evenings. We most definitelly will stay here when returning to town. Thank you!

So Sweet!

Angela was so nice and helpful. We were having our floors done and needed to be out of the house. Angela went above and beyond to help us. We ended up not staying at Grandma B’s after my husband said the smell in our house was ok for us to come home, but we did go inside before we got the call from my husband and it looked very clean!

Beatiful and Cozy for holiday family gathering

We arrived at Grandma B's home to find it beautifully decorated for the holidays and Christmas music greeted us as we walked through the doors. I felt wrapped in a warm hug as soon as we entered the home. Staying at Grandma B's was the perfect place for our family to gather and make some great holiday memories together. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals and the dining room table is perfect to sit down and share a meal together. DeSoto is a short drive to Kansas City and locating and entering the home was easy. Angela was very responsive and great to work with. We would definitely stay again. A 5-plus star stay for certain!

We enjoyed our time very much at grandma Bs. It’s proximity to downtown Desoto was great! It was very clean! Check in was super easy! Angela was very responsive when we had a need. We had 6 adults. The twin beds were slightly short for an average adult, but comfortable otherwise. We would definitely stay here again!
