"We loved our stay at The Islander! The pools and spas were a big highlight for us as well as being right on the river and close to the ferry stop and busses to main beach/Hastings St. We ran out of time to do everything we wanted to do, but we did lots of swimming, bbqs, boat hire, Restaurants, we want to come back to take advantage of the games room, sauna, and all the other things we loved this time around. Super lovely staff. Lovely apartment. Highly recommend!"

"Upon arrival and getting off the elevator there was a strong revolting smell coming from a garbage bill that could be smelt in multiple locations as we walked around to get to our room. The room was decent, spacious and comfortable and we had a view of the pool. It was mostly quiet except for one night when the fire alarm woke us and it turned out to be a false alarm. Getting to our room was a bit of a journey having to haul our luggage up several sets of stairs after coming off the elevator but would be fine if you don’t have a lot of stuff to carry. The pool was nice and refreshing. Unfortunately the lock box in our room used to hold valuable items was broken. I mentioned it to a staff member and he asked if I needed it fixed that day to which I said that would be preferable considering I have passports, etc that I’d like to have secured. He never came back to fixed it even though we were staying multiple days. Also the hair dryer did not work. Overall this is a lovely place to stay with the privacy and gardens. You can walk down the hill to the beach along a pathway which takes about 15 minutes. "

"Easy parking in this motel. Comfortable beds with crisp linen. Clean and plenty of space though the fittings were a little dated and worn. "

"I checked with the property re parking and was told each unit had an allocated parking space. What they failed to mention was that it was underground and height restricted. I arrived in a small camper and was unable to park! "

"A nice resort, close to the river, shops and restaurants. The management are super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The units are comfortable for the 3 adults in our party and the kitchen well equipped. The pool area was clean. We we booked over Easter and there was a lot of family activity and some normal children's noise. So I guess it would suit familys more than couples hoping for quiet. All in all, super value and I would book again. "
