Lovely home, needs do need to be addressed
There’s no driveway, parking is on the street and with the sand dunes that were man made from the city we had to literally dig our way in to the beach house. Needs a deep clean. TV remotes & TV don’t all work in upstairs bedrooms. Locks are finkicky. Furniture is horribly uncomfortable and needs to be replaced! Faucets needs to be replaced. They leak upstairs. Kitchen sprayer is clogged. I will say whenever the property managers were called they responded quickly & addressed what they could. Maintence men were beyond helpful and very nice and polite. Beach is wonderful!
Needed a deep cleaning.. but was comfortable.. kitchen was well stocked.. great location.. one of the king mattresses needs to be replaced..

Great house, great location! Good mattresses and nice furniture, but needs a deep cleaning and some minor repairs, like toilet flushes, door knobs, fridge shelves,...
We couldn't have asked for a better location or better weather. We had an amazing time. The maintenance guys were amazing we were so grateful to them. If your visiting the island definitely hit up Beach Planet for souvenirs, they have the such great people working there. Can't wait till the next time.

needs attention
management was quick to respond and made our stay tollerable, but MUCH attention is needed on this beach house...many issues that couldnt be rddoneduring our stay...great location, house ...wont stay again
Really enjoyed the location of the Island Escape; however, disappointed that some repairs (house siding) from 2020 storm weren't fixed prior to our stay. Also, outside chairs and gas grille should be replaced. I did call the property manager to let them know that their was not gas in the grille and they got it corrected within an hour! Thank you!
Property nice. You pay for cleaning but limited about being done the oven was gross dishwasher needed work the railing going upstairs sticky grim. Had to clean the grill caught fire cause of build up inside. Also had no kitchen towels. Called management very response.

First, the Dauphin Island Beach Rental staff was very supportive and quick to address the issues with this unit. Ultimately, they moved us to another rental (which was an upgrade) and helped to coordinate our move/refund a portion of our stay to make up for the inconvenience. I appreciated their willingness to make the situation right. Ultimately, I cannot recommend staying at this house. While I can recommend renting from Dauphin Island Beach Rental, this unit at the time we were staying (August 2025) had a laundry list of issues. Any time you're on vacation, you want it to go well. However, we were traveling with two small children, which amplifies inconveniences. We had AC issues, pool cleanliness problems, pest control needs, check-in miscommunication, driveway inaccessibility, etc. All of these issues can be mitigated, and I'm sure Dauphin Island Beach Rental will do so. While my review of the house is poor, my interactions with the rental company were superb.
Was disappointed in a few things. First the couch was broken when we arrived. It touched the ground in the middle. We were not able to pull in two cars as been told. We were told to park in bike lane due to flooding. We could not do that either as there were huge piles of sand and water in bike lane. We ended up having to park across the road at another house and unload everything from across the road. When the culvert was cleared 6 cars parked there once again leaving us no where to park. We had to walk through ankle deep water and down a few feet of sand to get to our vechicles. Only one tv worked the first night.
Overall, we were pleased with our stay at this home. There were a couple of things that happened that made our stay less than perfect. We were a group of 18 - 4 couples and 10 kids, ranging in age from 9-15.
Things that happened that were annoying but were handled well: We got to the property right at 3 pm and checked the propane on the grill. It didn’t seem full enough to grill that night, so I called the property manager. We had propane within an hour. The faucet on the shower on the main level wouldn’t shut off after my son’s shower, and they sent someone out within a couple of hours to fix it. Also, one of the shower/tubs upstairs wasn’t draining well, and the guy fixed this at the same time. None of these issues affected the rating given, because the property manager handled these things quickly.
Things that should have happened differently: I’d say the listing isn’t very clear. We were told there were 3 king beds, a full bed, and a twin with a trundle (along with other beds that don’t affect this piece). We knew one king bed was in the room with the bunk beds, so most likely wouldn’t work for one of the couples. However, we thought we’d be able to set the twin/trundle up as a “king” for one of the couples. It was listed as being a separate room. Maybe technically it’s a bedroom, but it’s basically an oversized closet with a window. There is room for the twin bed, and the trundle is about 6 inches shy of pulling out from underneath the twin when it hits a wall. So, there is a twin bed and a bed smaller than a twin. It also doesn’t have its own entrance - you have to go through the room with the bunks OR the room with the full to get to it. This should have been more clearly stated. We made it work, but it was disappointing. I feel the listing is misleading.
Also, when we got to the house on Saturday, we couldn’t get the wifi to work. The property manager sent someone out to look at it. After messing with it for about 45 minutes, he told us they’d have to call the internet provider, and that wouldn’t happen until Monday. On Monday, we didn’t hear anything; so I reached out to the property manager. I was told someone from Micro-Comm would be out that day. The guy showed up around 3:30 and told people in our group that the house had been offline for 65 days. It was finally fixed on Wednesday afternoon, with less than half our vacation left. This issue should have been caught before we arrived.
