Overall, we had a good stay! but the experience was disappointing due to circumstances that were completely outside of our control.We originally booked a different property that featured five bedrooms and a much nicer amenities. Shortly before our trip, the host informed us there had been a "system glitch" and that the property was no longer available. Because this was Memorial Day weekend and accommodations were extremely limited, we felt pressured to accept a “discounted” replacement property rather than risk having nowhere to stay.The replacement home was a noticeable downgrade from what we originally paid for. It had only four bedrooms, felt outdated compared to the original listing, and several issues were present upon arrival, including bedroom lights and ceiling fans that were not working properly. While the host did provide a 20% discount, it did not feel proportional to the difference between the property we booked and the one we ultimately received.To be clear, we still enjoyed our trip and made the best of the situation. However, it was frustrating that a mistake on the host's end resulted in us receiving accommodations that were not comparable to the property we originally selected and paid for. Given the differences between the two homes, we believe a larger discount or better resolution would have been appropriate.The stay was ultimately okay, but our experience fell short of expectations because we had to take what we could get get.
