About this property
Paradise Land Cabin A
Adorable, newly built, one bedroom cabin nestled in the Black Hills on the west end of Custer. Cabin size is 460 square feet. Larger rock outcropings are in the back yard and a gas fire pit with a pergola for entertaining is on one side. The yard has a privacy fence so you can enjoy your time outside. There is a gas grill for those wanting to grill their own meals outside. The cabin is ideal for two people and possibly a child.
From the front door you can see Rocky Knolls Golf course so for the golfing enthusiasts... the course is calling you. Frontier Grill is just around the corner from the cabin and they have really good meals. Custer downtown is about 4 blocks away with lots of specialty shops and restaurants to explore. Mt Rushmore is 17 miles away, Crazy Horse Monument is about 7 miles away, and Custer State Park is 10 miles away. The cabin is ideal for those wanting to do some ATVing because the highway access is so convenient with little travel on gravel. For those bringing a trailer, we have a separate place to park them on the property. So please inquire when booking.
As you enter the glass window door of the cabin, you will be in the livingroom and the kitchen is to the right. The area is an open concept so entertaining is so fun. The couch is a Laz-boy FULL SIZE sleeper so could accomodate one person. Kitchen counter and island are granite and add color and durability to any task done in this area. With a full kitchen, everything is at your fingertips, you just need to bring the food. The bathroom is full bath/shower combination and there is a full size washer and dryer for your use. The bedroom has a beautiful iron bedframe with a very comfortable queen bed. With blackout cutains on the sliding glass doors, this should help with a good night's sleep. TV and wifi are very dependable and cell phone reception is good.
If you are considering bringing your "dog buddies", please inquire before booking. There is a pet fee, weight limit and size. We ask that you don’t leave them unattended, on a leash and you pick up after them.
We have a security camera on the fence that detects front door activity, and one on the side of the cabin to see activity near our personal cars. We live in the larger upper cabin. This is for your information..

Loved our stay here! Friendly hosts, cute and clean property, great location to Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, etc. Would highly recommend to everyone we know!
Beautiful cabin equipped with all the essentials! In a great location for sight seeing and exploring but nice enough of a place to stay you won’t have to leave to enjoy yourself. Nice outdoor space and cozy indoor space.
We could not have loved our stay at the Paradise Land Cabin more. It was perfectly appointed for our family of four. We loved that the location was close to all the big highlights that we wanted to see (Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer, etc). The kitchen was great so we didn't have to eat all of our meals out, and we loved that there was in-unit laundry. Both kids gave it two thumbs up as well. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Exceptional Hospitality , clean and very well manicured back yard. Enjoyable firepit. Best sleep we've had. A definite layover for any future trips in the area.
Beautiful house, sparkling clean. We loved the full sized kitchen stocked with quality cookware and sharp knives, and extra items that made the stay comfortable. It was a pleasure to sit on the back patio enjoying our morning coffee at the foot of the awesome rock outcrop. The hosts were perfect, thoughtful and friendly. We spent three nights here and will definitely be back. Thank you Suzie and Darwin for a memorable stay!
I was very impressed with the cabin and the host. It had all of the amenities one could want while on vacation. The location was very quiet and yet close to the Mickelson trail and downtown Custer. The host was very helpful and friendly. I would stay there again and it is the nicest rental I have ever vacationed at.
Everything about our stay (with the possible exception of the weather!) far exceeded our expectations. Suzy and Darwin were gracious and responsive hosts providing excellent advice on how best to enjoy the area. The cabin was spotless and had everything one might require for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect for all of the attractions in the surrounding area. We would unquestionably want to stay here again if we ever return to the area.
We were met by the property owner on arrival. She was very friendly and helpful, gave us idea's on places to visit and eat. The rooms were amazing, very clean and we could tell that a lot of thought and consideration went into the design of of the premises.
The next time we visit we will be renting from them.
This cabin was amazing! Exceeded my expectations in every way. So comfortable, cozy, clean and new. Nestled against beautiful rock formations with a lovely little backyard with cute vegetable gardens. Very quiet and serene.
The hosts were very helpful and sweet. I highly recommend this sweet little cabin.
Our stay was fantastic. This property is centrally located so that we were able to see everything we wanted that was 20 minutes to 1.5 hours away. The property was super cozy and everything was of high quality. It is perfect for a couple. The host, Suzie was awesome. She was very responsive and very friendly. She personally came to greet us on arrival and gave us recommendations all through our stay. I highly recommend this property and host!!
This will be the place that we will be compare all others to in the future! The cabin is so nice: kitchen has everything, being able to do laundry is wonderful, bed is comfy, and shower has great water pressure. Then there is the outside! The rock wall is just outside the bedroom slider doors, and there is also a nice covered patio. Also close to beautiful Custer Park.
My husband and I have stayed in several rentals throughout the years and this was the best one yet! It was a perfect place for the 2 of us. The cabin is absolutely amazing! Everything is beautifully maintained and comes with all sorts of amenities. Great care has gone into the cabin and it definitely shows. It was so nice to have the yard and place to hang out outside. Being up against the rock formation was really neat! Susie is a fantastic host - excellent, detailed communication. Thank you for a wonderful week! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back!
My husband and I were celebrating our 45th anniversary and we could not have picked a better place. We have stayed at many cabins and this was the cleanest cabin we have ever stayed. Susan thought of everything when preparing for guests. She had all the little extras that you would not think would be furnished. She was easy to get in touch with and answered all our questions. I would highly recommend this cabin. It felt like going home each night.
This cabin was so perfect for our little family of 4. Our 3 and 6 year old were comfy on the pullout sofa with my husband and I right around the corner in the bedroom. Everything we needed and more in the cabin. Loved the sitting area in the "backyard" with the fireput and grill. The lights on the pergola made it so cozy at night too. Saw a couple bucks right outside the cabin one night, as well. Susan (the owner) was so friendly and helpful. When we weren't there at 8 for our arrival, like we said we would be, she called and checked on us and gave us turn by turn directions to get to the cabin. We absolutely will be back again for a stay!
We absolutely loved our stay here! This cabin is beautifully decorated and offers so many great amenities, including a gas grill and fire pit. The kitchen is fully equipped with just about anything you could ever need, including a Keurig and smores forks! The cabin is pristine! The hosts (Susie and Darwin) are so welcoming and accommodating. We had our dog with us and this property had a really nice area for walking her. She loved going up the hill, back into the forest a ways. It's a great little hike to the top of the hill - it's very scenic! There was a doe that visited the property every morning and cute little chipmunks that would run around the patio and rocks. This is a great location - surrounded by beautiful scenery, yet just a couple of minutes from downtown Custer if you want to go into town for anything. We would definitely recommend staying here! We hope to be back next summer!
Superb! Best stay ever!! Would definitely stay again!!
We have stayed in numerous cabins, condos, houses, and this is by far the best stay we have ever had!!! Susie and Darwin have outdone themselves with their cabins. Exceptionally clean, everything you could possibly need provided. I overpack because places usually have minimal supplies and cheap cookware. Not this place!! They have it all, and quality is top notch. Ample supply of towels and washcloths. Beautiful pergola with comfy chairs, fire pit and lights for the perfect evening out after our hikes during the day. We got to meet Susie and Darwin and they are just fantastic!!! We made a suggestion of a mirror for the bedroom and next thing you know, she’s bringing a (NICE!) mirror for the bedroom!! They certainly have a knack for making your home away from home a great place to be. Can’t wait to go back!!
Since day 1, communication with Susie was very easy and efficient. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly almost 2 weeks ago- and were a little sad to leave actually! Before our arrival, Susie was very quick to respond to questions, informed us of great locations to eat/visit, and provided a hiking guide of the Black Hills for us to use while there. The amenities provided were very thoughtful/generous and she went above and beyond to communicate what we didn't need to bring all the way from home. Since we were hiking most of the time, the use of the washer and dryer was a HUGE plus!!!
The cabin was just the right size for our family of 4 plus medium sized dog... It was cozy, yet well equipt. The planning of space/utility in the cabin was well thought out to maximize every inch. Rustic decor, with modern amenities.
This was a return trip to the Custer/Black Hills area for us so we could hot all the places we didn't get to last time... We definitely would return to this cabin (or her other one) on yet another trip to the area. Thanks for all the information and hospitality Susie and Darwin- You have an amazing property in a great location in Custer!
