We absolutely LOVED staying in our Stargazer! It was so comfortable and so unique! The bed was awesome and the bathrooms were very clean and nice! We will stay here again FOR SURE!!!
We had a great time staying in this little Glamping A-Frame. It is away from the noise and traffic. The weather had turned cooler, but we had heating pads on the bed and we slept comfortably. We enjoyed our stay!
First time glamping So fun!!!! Property is incredible. Close to town but yet feels so far removed. Host is great, provided great service, and receptive to any issues. Highly recommend.
The Dakota Dream, as always, lived up to its name. The host is friendly, helpful, and genuinely cares about the quality of the guest experience. Whether you stay in the lodge, or one of the Stargazers, no detail has been overlooked. On this trip I chose to stay in a Stargazer, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The setting, in the heart of the Black Hills, is beautiful, and access to town, and many nearby attractions makes this the perfect place to stay. You feel like a million miles away from civilization, but you arent.
Best stay from South Dakota to Wyoming to Montana to North Dakota....
We went on our honey moon from our home in Pa, we stopped in the black hills before we continued on to Wyoming and Montana.. I am so glad we stayed here... The a frame was awesome with the star gazing wall.. The best touch was the heated mattress topper. The host and the hosts helped was completely awesome. Very personable. Out of 5 different Vrbo properties we stayed at this was by far our favorite, I was waiting until the end to do my review. Best night of sleep we got.
We truly enjoyed our stay in the A-Frame Stargazer! It was so cute and cozy. The property was beautiful and the host was very accommodating. It is perfectly located just outside of the Custer Main Street and not to far from Needles Hwy. Would highly recommend staying here!
This was our 1st time " glamping " and we loved it! Even though we didn't spend much time here, we did enjoy the stargazer 1. Being able to fall asleep under the stars is so calming! Will definitely recommend and visit again!
Wonderful, stay, wish we could have stayed longer. Left the lid up both nights, listened to the quiet. A delightful well maintained place with friendly host. Great nearby modern bathrooms with all amenities. Enjoyed two evenings out in nearby Custer, SD.
The Stargazer was awesome. Quiet and very comfortable. We will be back! (Hopefully with less rain next time…lol)

Overall an amazing experience, the A-frame was so adorable and very clean, loved that it had its own bathroom also impeccable in all the aspects, host was amazing, friendly, and attentive. Loved every minute of it my family and I will definitely return! Thank you for a beautiful experience…..
The property was as described. Unfortunately the weather was not great while we visited. This is something to keep in mind when renting an indoor/outdoor space. With that being said, this place will be amazing for anyone visiting during good weather. The host was attentive to our needs and easy to reach.
This was my husband's cup of tea and I thought I would hate it. But to my surprise I total enjoyed it. It was very comfortable with great mattress, soft bedding and fluffy towels in our own bathroom just a couple feet from cabin. Thought i couldn't live without AC but cabin was a good temperature night and day. Especially when you opened the wall and a breeze blew through. Makenzie was a great host and gave us all the hot spots to hit like the hot springs spa. Would definitely suggest staying here for the comfort and experience.
This place was very peaceful and quiet. I did here a lot of noise the first night . That kinda scared me but come to find out I guess they said in town it was the sound of elks mating 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏻♀️😬😂 Gota love the great outdoors! The stargazer 1 we stayed at was nice and cozy. Everything was very clean. Next time we will come when it’s warmer. It was too cold and windy to open it up and enjoy what we really came for. We didn’t get to meet the hostess in person but replied to my messages in a timely manner. I most definitely will come back but next time I will make the effort to meet our hostess in person just to make me feel more comfortable also come when it’s warmer to really enjoy stargazing with our window open .
The Stargazer gives you all the best parts about tenting without the unpleasant things we put up with. No laying on the ground—you get a VERY comfortable bed, with an electric blanket if you want it. No line for the restroom or showers—you get your own. And if it rains, you’re not getting wet from a leaky tent—you can lay there and listen to the rain fall and look at the stars overhead! We were in Stargazer 1 and loved it! Beautiful view and so quiet! It rained the first night we were there, but we enjoyed the Big Dipper framed in the glass. The second night we left the A frame open all night. It was our favorite night of vacation! We’ve recommended it to all our friends and would definitely go back!
First and foremost, McKenzie is the best. This was our first A-Frame experience. This property is excellent! We had two clear nights to see the stars (it happened to be a 'dark sky' with no moon) and my husband had a blast taking photos of the Milky Way. We were gone most of the two days touring and not being able to take advantage of the quiet surroundings!
We absolutely loved our glamping experience at Dakota Dreams. We are normally campers, and staying here elevated our vacation above our usual tent. The bed is amazing (truly - it’s the best sleep we’ve had in a long time) and it was wonderful to fall asleep looking at the stars, or on some nights, listening to the rain. It was fantastic having our own private shower and not having to share with the masses in a campground. The property was quiet and peaceful - we could come back and relax on the deck of the A frame or play games at the picnic table. Mackenzie and her daughter were wonderful hostesses and stopped regularly to say hello but were never intrusive. They are still working on the final touches to finish the property and I understand that a fire pit is forthcoming, which is as the only thing that I thought was missing that would have really made the experience perfect. This place is a gem for those that are looking for a more rustic, quiet and unique stay in the Custer area.
