Beautiful Home on 1 acre just outside of Custer backs up to forest service
Come and enjoy our NEW vacation home in the southern black hills. Our home is located in picturesque Custer, SD. The home sits well back from the road (paved) on 1 acre and backs up to US Forest Service property. The main floor of our home includes master bedroom with king bed, 2nd bedroom with a queen bed, bathroom with tub & shower combination, laundry, fully equipped spacious kitchen, dining table, and living area with TV. The second floor has one bedroom with 2 full size beds, full bathroom with shower, and sitting room which contains a queen size futon and TV. This home is well suited for families, but not ideal for groups containing more than 6 adults. Home has a large wrap around deck with outdoor furniture and a Weber gas bbq. This is a great way to enjoy the beautiful evenings in Custer. There are many fire restrictions in Custer County so for your protection and ours there are no open fires on this property. This property does not have air conditioning, however the upstairs has opposing windows with box fans. The fans do a phenomenal job cooling the home on the rare occasion AC would be required.
This property is the perfect jumping off spot for all of the activities available in the Black Hills. Located just minutes from Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Jewel Cave just to name a few. This is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing stay while enjoying the natural beauty of the area.

We loved our stay here. Had everything we needed for our family with two young kids. Close to so many fun activities and great location just out of Custer.
The house is very comfortable and more spacious than it appears. The house was stocked with every supply that we needed. It is very close to Custer. We really enjoyed our stay.
Clean nice place. It was a great location for our day trips around the area. There is a little traffic noise during the day but quiet at night. We would definitely stay again.
We found this home to be everything we needed for our 8 day stay. Totally equipped, beds really comfy, loved sitting on the porch for morning coffee and evening wine. Thank you so much!
This was a fantastic house for two adult couples. Plenty of space, great location, and fully stocked kitchen. We loved having the deck to relax in the cool weather in the evenings and have coffee on in the morning. The host was extremely prompt with communication and the pictures in the listing were exactly as seen. We would highly recommend this place.
We had a wonderful stay in Custer, SD. Chris and Wendy thought of everything we might need while staying. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to cook most of our meals at the house. The area is beautiful and wonderful for hiking and animal watching.
Had a wonderful time in this lovely home. UTV riding straight from the property to countless trails and town. We would definitely recommend this location.
We spent a week in the Black Hills and thoroughly enjoyed coming “home” to our lovely little cottage each evening. Location was perfect for our day trips and the house was clean, well equipped and provided everything we needed for a wonderful getaway.
Stayed at this home while attending a family reunion in Custer. Compared to many if the camping and cabin accommodations that other family members had, we were very happy with our choice.
Comfy beds, well-equipped kitchen to cook meals and a nice location. The property was clean and perfect for our 5 adults. Definitely recommend!
Great place to explore the Black Hills and Custer Statepark. Ideal location close to everything and a nice house with lots of amenities. Clean and accurate listing. Thanks for having us :-)
From the time we drove onto the property we felt welcome with a well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. We had no issues with neighbors as it's plenty far from the houses close by. We were able to enjoy the black hills and state park as it is convenient to those locations. Overall wished we could have stayed longer!
Highly recommend if looking to stay in Custer/black hills
We had a great vacation. The house was supplied with everything needed and then some to make the stay comfortable and convenient.
Great communication with the house and very quick prompt responses to questions during our stay.
The house is very cozy, beds comfortable and supplied everything you would need in your own home.
Definitely one of the best VRBO experiences me and my extended family has had.
Thank you much for all the little extras
We loved our time at this home. It was wonderfully furnished and there were so many thoughtful extras. A state park pass was included along with a small cooler which was all that we needed for our picnics. The home was very clean with a well stocked kitchen. There were even extra pens and paper for our game playing enjoyment.
This house was a great stay for our family vacation in the Black Hills. It was close to Custer and Custer State Park which made it easy to get around. The house was clean with specific instructions and area suggestions. Kitchen had everything we needed and good pans to cook with. Large dining room table was perfect for family games. It was off a main road as other reviews stated but most of the houses in area are and did not affect quality of stay. Would stay at this property again!!
We had 2 couples traveling together. This was the first time one of the couples had been to the Black Hills. This house was absolutely perfect for our stay! The kitchen was so well equipped! We enjoyed being able to have our breakfast and dinner at this home any only had to snack while we were out sightseeing. The house is just the right distance from Custer to run to town if we needed anything and so close to many of the attractions we were interested in. We would definitely stay here again!
This was the perfect place and size for 6 adults - 2 singles and 2 couples. We did day trips from this location which was perfect. At first thought maybe no AC would be a problem, but opened it up at night ran fans and it cooled off. In the morning we closed up, put down blinds and it was still cool when we returned every day - mid to late afternoon. Quiet and peaceful area. We all loved our stay.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was set up really nice for our family of 5. The kitchen was well stocked and had enough room for multiple people to make lunches at the same time. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed having the windows open and feeling the cool breeze blow through. We enjoyed the deck out front even though you could hear a little road noise. The location was nice being close to Custer without being in town. Short drives to Mt Rushmore, Sylvan Lake, Crazy Horse, etc. The hosts were great to work with.
This home is clean, quiet, and had everything we needed to use as a base to explore the Black Hills. It has a large kitchen and had all the utensils for cooking. It has a nice front deck for your morning coffee. It is situated west of Custer and in close proximity to the things we wanted to do. We hiked to the top of Black Elk peak, hiked around Sylvan Lake, drove Iron Mountain Road with the pigtails, visited Mount Rushmore, and relaxed at the Miner Brewery near Hill City. An added plus was the State Park pass that we utilized. I would definitely stay here again if our travels brings us this way in the future.
Well it's really not a cabin.... but it rhymed! This house was perfect for two couples and it would easily accommodate three. There is plenty of room, well equipped kitchen, all in a very nice setting. Just a couple miles out of Custer, SD was a great location and easy access to Custer State Park, Rushmore, Crazy Horse and a nice drive to the Badlands. Colorado is overrated. The Black Hills of SD is the place to relax and enjoy Gods creation.
