The staff was great. Luis and my cleaning lady were very friendly and made my birthday trip special. The location was convenient to getting around on the subway. I was upgraded to a suite which was lovely. Everything was very clean. The room was large. The bathroom tiles could use a new grout and a bit of the wall paper was coming up on one panel, so a little refreshing there would be nice.

Hotel was very clean, comfortable and convenient. The staff was very polite.

The Hotel St. James was amazing! It was central to everything NYC. Walk 10ft outside past midnight and can get food and drink, and convienently next to a 24 hour store and rooftop bar. Hotel staff was great so was the housekeeping and AC.

Website touted free breakfast as “a rarity” in NYC. At check in we were provided a card for free coffee and a pastry from the coffee stand in lobby. Coffee stand staff said we could only have coffee. Website shd be corrected to accurately represent that you only get a cup of coffee for breakfast. Bathtub needed replacement or scrubbing. Bed linen was very crisp and clean. Thank you! But not enough to keep one warm at night.

We stayed there with two small children, and it was fantastic. The room was very spacious, and the bed with the curtain served as a little fort for them. The building seemed designed as an office building, so the floor was solid (soundproof), and the ceiling was high. A fully equipped kitchen with a large fridge was perfect! They also have a huge laundry room and a decent gym. The laundry room has some games, so kids can enjoy that too, and having laundry on site is extremely helpful with children. The shower area was a bit tricky, but as long as your kids can shower, it's all good. Well-thought-out design. In addition to all of that, the staff were very nice and helpful. Thank you so much! Wall Street is a great location for kids — our kids particularly enjoyed the playground at Battery Park, a nice indoor playground near NYSE, ferries to see the Statue of Liberty, taking one subway stop to visit the Transit Museum, and the tour bus we could hop on from Trinity Church, etc. Anyway, we highly recommend this hotel 👍
