Smith Lake Brushy Creek Lake house

“Time Out Of Mind” is on Lewis Smith Lake nestled in Bankhead Forrest, located between Addison and Arley in Winston County, Alabama. 2 hours from Birmingham or 3 hours from Memphis or 4 hours from Atlanta.

The house has been rented for family reunions, romantic getaways, small group retreats, fishing tournaments, weddings, and much more! The house can accommodate large families or single renters.

Information about the home:
• Comfortably sleeps 13 – 15 in five Bedrooms:
o 2 x King
o 2 X Queen
o 1 Bedroom with 1 Full Bed and 3 Twin Bunk Beds
o There are also 2 fold-down futons that can sleep little people
o Plenty of room in bedrooms to set up portable cribs.
• 4 Bathrooms
• 2 Kitchens
• A wonderful screened in porch and decks on 3 floors overlooking beautiful Smith Lake
• Three large, open living spaces
• 3 Wall-mounted Flat screen TV’s with full surround sound
• Full size pool table
• Boat Dock with an extra slip for your water toy. Boat launch access in the neighborhood. A gravel ramp may require 4WD
• Since this is our “home away from home”, it is fully furnished and has all the amenities you could possibly need.

WIFI: The house does have high speed WIFI.

Note: Quite a bit of the decorating and landscape in the pictures has changed since these pictures were taken. We are currently refreshing the decor.

Great location for our family thanksgiving get together

The house was exactly as described and it was perfect for 6 adults and 4 children. Everyone had plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed the couple of trails by the house.

Perfect Lake Getaway

This is our third time staying at this Smith Lake house. It's a wonderful retreat with enough space for my extended family to gather. We love the peacefulness of the location, the screened porch, and the game room. This house has everything we need, and we look forward to going back next year.

Going away gathering

There were a combined 4 families ( some related, some were dear friends) together for my daughter that will be going on a year long military deployment. Excellent property for a large group. The house has plenty of room for everyone to have their own space . The weather wasn’t the best, so we didn’t get to enjoy the fire pit and only grilled out once due to rain.

Perfect Lake Retreat

Lovely property with awesome dock, great game room, beautiful landscaping, big deck and screened in porch. This house has everything you need. We roasted marshmallows at the fire pit, swam, boated, and played games. The owner is so accommodating and responsive. He helped us with all our requests. We’ll definitely rent this house again!

Holiday Getaway

Time Out of Mind is very remote; and once off the main road, it’s very rough with potholes. BUT you arrive at a house that sits on the bank of the MOST picturesque little creek you could ever imagine. Even in winter we enjoyed the kayaks. Restaurants are few and far between, so be prepared; and you’ll probably want to bring your own favorite cookware. Also, bring your favorite family games, and you can truly put “time out of mind”.

Family vacation

This is our second time staying at time out of mind and will not be the last! We fall in love with the lake and location more and more! There was plenty of space for 6 adults and 7 kids. Dish’s and cookware are plentiful two refrigerators a commercial ice maker in the basement was a great addition to avoid trips in and out of town. The owners were quick with suggestions when we had to pull our boat out of the water for a repair (I hope this doesn’t happen to you but if it does I HIGHLY recommend Vinson Marine) the only problem we had was that our stay came to an end and we had to come back to reality! I wish I could give the location 10 stars!

The house has a great layout and excellent location. The house is very well furnished. The lake access is wonderful and that part of the lake provides a lot of privacy and gives a lot of area for playing in the lake off the dock. We enjoyed our time and look forward to coming back next year.

Great vacation

The place is nice . It could definitely need a good cleaning . The price ia reasonable amd it has a pool table! The views are nice from balcony. The dock and water are nice. We had a great time and the owners were very easy with. We had no problems. We loved the pool table and the lake!
