Your first impression may give you pause as you pull in to the covered parking space and the hill down to the side door has no path. That being said, once you are inside the house it is very clean, spacious and quite charming. Then you move to the lovely kitchen, open dining area and screened porch, all with spectacular views of the lake that take your breath away. My wife and I both agreed that it was the most relaxing vacation we've ever been on. The kayaking was wonderful once you get the knack of the launch pad.. The neighbors on both sides were very nice. The advice from Katherine to paddle to hidden lake was truly appreciated. Train was going by as we approached the trestle bridge. What a surprise hidden lake was,,, not to be missed. The train whistles from time to time (infrequent) might put some off but we loved them and thought it added to the character and charm of this very special place. We shall DEFINITELY be back next year. P.S. Don't miss the Old Schoolhouse Restaurant on Rte 39 in Chappell (don't be put off by the outside of the building).
