"The gecko bungalow’s is an amazing stay. Everything was as advertised. The host a company were more than accommodating. Transporting us from the airport and back, accommodation us with food recommendations as well as other transport throughout the city. I would recommend staying here to anyone who wants to have a nice peaceful and enjoyable stay!"

"I loved it all. The river view, pool, bar, restaurant, service, and how kind and sweet everyone were. I loved the location, the peace and tranquility it brought to my life. Which was much need for an Emergency Room RN. When I arrived I was greeted my a wonderful young man, he was kind and very pleasant. This world needs more people like.him in it. My only regret is having to leave so soon. Thank you all for everything, I appreciate it so much!"

"We had a room on the second floor, which had a fabulous view of the lake. The clam chairs were really uncomfortable, though, the back being at an incredibly unnatural angle and hurt my neck; I imagine they're only comfortable to someone already drunk and looking for someplace to pass out. So I do wish they had an alternative option for those of us not drunk and who want to be able to look at the views more easily. We had dinner in the restaurant one night. Overall the food was good; ordering was a bit frustrating because they were out of a bunch of thing, and since we can't eat shrimp, that left pretty slim pickings. I wound up getting the fettuccine alfredo; I don't remember the menu saying it contained onions, but it definitely startled me with the unexpected crunch, and i was thrown off by the two random pieces of green pepper I found in there as well. Maybe I just didn't read the menu closely; that's on me. I'm fairly sure the green pepper was cross-contamination though. Our waitress seemed not happy in general and specifically with us, so I didn't want to says anything, frankly. Nate, the manager (owner?), was awesome, though, and Huero (sp?) the white dog was so sweet. I didn't catch the other man's name who was working but he was also really nice and always had a ready smile any time he saw us; both always asked is we needed anything and was always ready to help. I would definitely stays there again, I just maybe wouldn't eat there again."

"Wish we could have stayed longer! Michelle was great always responding right away with any questions we had before arrival and during! Scott was an amazing host! Picked us up at the airport and quickly got us food at the Belkin Brewery which was a great place! Thank you Scott for all the tips 1-15 lol! We will be back!"

"Fabulous property and hosts! There are up to 3 units you can rent for groups up to 12 people. I highly recommend this property. The hosts have created a clean and beautiful oasis. We ordered dinner from a local restaurant that delivered and the hosts got us some requested groceries for an extra fee, which we highly appreciated. I am so happy we decided to stay here instead of a hotel in Belize City. "

Amazing Jungle Tree House right over the river with bikes and canoe

"Our stay at Howler House was just as we imagined it could be. The hosts were absolutely amazing and quick with responses. Shanna picked us up from the water taxi, arranged our excursions, and was so helpful with any questions we had about the area. Kenny was there daily cleaning the pool or the yard. They both were so easy to talk to and really enjoyed spending time with them. The monkeys were all around and there was 2 babies that were very curious and came quite close. A wonderful experience! Waking up to all the birds singing was a great way to start the day, can’t be beat. The pool was very nice to cool down in since there was no a/c in the house but there were many fans that kept the air moving. I loved staying there and would not hesitate to stay there again."

Howler Jungle House

"If you are looking for the jungle experience than this is the place for you. We were greeted by the local troop of Howler monkeys on arrival. Beautiful house right on the river. Locals had been seeing Manitee in the river near the house. Kenny and Shanna were great. We are already planning a return trip. "

Lake View Condo

10/10 Excellent

"This condo feels like home. The furniture is comfortable. The kitchen has the necessities. The condo is gated in a quiet neighborhood. The pool is gorgeous and perfectly maintained. The outdoor deck is set up for dining and sunning with table, bar, and lounge chairs. The mango tree adjacent to the deck area is heavy with fruit, but it is still to early to enjoy. The condo’s host is responsive and helpful. I couldn’t ask for a better home away from home!"
