We have stayed in this property before and while it’s never clean, it does have Lake access without many steps, a nice screened in porch, and kayaks. We just clean when we get there.
However, this year we arrived and found that the second bathroom (the half bath of the 1.5 bath listed) was locked and had a sign on it that said “utility closet.” We know this was a misrepresentation since we have stayed there before. This bath is important for our group of nine as we have mixed families, older folks, younger folks, and I don’t want to send my tween daughter into the bath when her grandfather is showering. We needed the extra half bath. The management should have disclosed in advance since they admitted they knew.
When I reached out for a solution, they offered for us to use a bathroom of a house that the owner also rents next door. I accepted the solution, even though it was not what we paid for.
The next day when we went in at 6:30 am to use the bathroom in this other unit, there were cans on the counter ans people asleep in the beds! We scared the crap out of them by entering a unit with the key the owners had given us. It was quite a scene. Once everyone calmed down, they told us they had been told by the same management company that they could use unit 151B because the refrigerator in their property upstairs wasn’t working. This was a major fail that endangered our safety. Owner refused to offer a partial refund for the fraudulent listing and the danger we encountered.
