"In a week of rain we managed to find many dry days. The location of the village was outstanding with views of the loch and an abundance of birdlife ( I counted 40 species in the area in the week). Melfort has great access to the isles through Oban and the coastline along the A 816 offers opportunities for gardens (Arduaine) and loch views from Ardfern. Particularly loved the bird table. Watching all the different birds coming and going all day long. Could of happily stayed forever."

"We stayed only two nights. The property is about 30 minutes outside of Oban at the edge of a smaller loch and just outside a small village. The staff was very accommodating and helpful, including when we had an issue (likely self-inflicted) with a washing machine. We would definitely stay again, and make time to stay longer and enjoy more of the area as well as the property’s many amenities. Strongly recommended."

"Melfort was an excellent base for exploring this beautiful part of the world. The cottage was very well equipped and staff very helpful ,welcoming and dog friendly ( especially Olwynn). Good walking and stunning scenery on the doorstep. My only quibble was the fact that it isn't made very clear until after booking that electricity is charged extra ."
