We enjoyed our stay in Cotuit! It’s a lovely, quiet village with wonderful amenities. We bought used books at the library, and donated them back when we finished reading them. We became “regulars” at Cotuit Fresh Market, buying and eating lunch at the picnic tables out back, and picking up dinner in the evening to eat back at the house.I loved walking the streets of Cotuit, looking at the beautiful classic and vernacular architecture, checking out the beaches and town ways to the water. I took many photos and made sketches of places I hope to paint someday soon. One very rainy day, I sat on the screened porch reading and testing out some new watercolor paints. It was so relaxing. The house is well stocked with dishes, glasses, utensils, and cookware. It’s convenient to Stop&Shop, CVS, Cotuit Liquors, Osterville Fish Market, Pizza 1 Subs 2, Aubuchon Hardware, and Happy Nails. (I rarely get manicures, but when I’m on the Cape, I get the best French manicures there.)The house itself is old, quaint, and somewhat quirky. That said, the living room was surprising large, the dining room comfortable, and the kitchen charmingly old-fashioned (but with modern appliances). The steps to the second floor were steep, but the bedrooms were quite large, with space to move around and put your luggage. Throughout the house, the owner has a fascinating collection of artwork, including two beautiful paintings of the house itself. But the best “picture” is the view from the screened porch!
