"I can't recommend the Marsili highly enough. The property is perfectly situated just on the outskirts of Cortona center. A 5 minute walk and you are exploring a fascinating, casual, friendly, safe and fun neighborhood. Every member of the staff went out of their way to meet our needs. We loved the breakfast as it was different daily and so delicious. The rooms were large and comfortable. We sat up in bed in the morning to outstanding views of the valley. It was out of a painting. "When we were looking for somewhere to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our family we naturally turned to Italy where we have spent many happy holidays in the past. We found Fondo Caprile in an area we had visited before and decided that it would be the ideal place. How right we were. It certainly lived up to its photos and our expectations. Communications beforehand with the host, Mieke, were prompt and helpful. The house itself was equipped with everything you can think of (and more). It is so spacious and has such lovely grounds. We loved sitting in the outside dining area at mealtimes with its views across to Cortona, even when there was a thunderstorm on one occasion.Fondo Caprile is also well located, within an hour or so of Perugia, Assisi and Montepulciano by car with Cortona just twenty minutes away. We also took advantage of the railway service from Camucia for trips to Florence and Orvieto.We used the meal service provided by Denise (the caretaker) and her friend Lorena on 3 occasions and would not have found any better meals in the local restaurants. "
