Apartment 'Humilitas - Basium' with Private Garden, Wi-Fi, and Air Conditioning

Welcome to Palazzo Humilitas.



You are in the atrium of a historic building, originally constructed on a 16th-century farmhouse, with some original plasterwork still visible. In 1921, the property was purchased and renovated by a local noble family. The owner, the village doctor, transformed it into a noble residence. You can still see marks on the old floor from carriages and early automobiles.



The beautiful white local stone columns, wrought iron railings, and staircase lamps showcase the Art Nouveau style.



Your suite, named Basium (Latin for "kiss"), features a minibar, coffee maker, and traditional Salento almond biscuits. The room has manual blackout curtains on the door and chain-operated blinds on the windows. To lower them, lift the cord and pull gently.



The room overlooks the ancient garden, surrounded by bamboo dating back to the building’s original construction. The garden includes a small orange grove and a patio with an outdoor shower and a bathtub crafted using the traditional local cocciopesto technique, giving it a marble-like appearance.



The bathroom has burnished brass fixtures with hot and cold water. Soft night lighting ensures a relaxing ambiance on warm summer evenings.



At check-in, if I cannot greet you in person, you will receive an access code to enter via the box next to the intercom. Inside, you’ll find the keys to the main door and your suite hanging on the wall—please take them with you whenever you leave.



For stays longer than a week, linen and towel changes are available for an extra fee, as are additional cleaning services.
