This picturesque home is within walking distance to the beach (or take advantage of the trolley, in season). It’s perfect for those who enjoy the ocean and ever-changing sound views. At dusk, marvel in spectacular sunsets and then sit back and enjoy a night of cosmic sightseeing – planets, shooting stars, and constellations.

Sound Escape is an ideal destination for family and friends. Within steps of Magnolia Bay and the Currituck Sound, you will delight in the surrounding water views as the vistas promise to mesmerize. Watch the playful otters and nutria, hungry herons and egrets, and all the abundant wildlife right outside your back door. The home offers three master bedrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, and an electric charging station (240 volt) in the garage for electric cars.

Location and house was nice, but very disappointed

Disappointed in the overall cleanliness of house. Cob webs over all lamp shades, web s hanging from ceiling fans. Random spiders in house. Spider all over the outside of back of house and hanging under roof of front porch. Broken toilet in first floor master. Called village realty, exterminator came out next day. Toilet was fixed. Tried to clean inside, never completed the job. Would not rent this house again. Have stayed in this area many times, worst rental I have had yet.

August 2018 Stay

This is our second year vacationing at Sound Escape. We’ve been coming down to OBX for over 25 years and we all agree that this is definitely our favorite home. We love having our morning coffee on the deck overlooking the sound, enjoying the wildlfe, to having a glass of wine in the evening watching the sun go down. The kitchen is very well equipped and the matresses are comfy. The house is very clean and decorated nicely and extremely welcoming. Looking forward to coming back next year!

Spent a great couple of weeks in this home. We wanted for nothing as the owners had provided for our every need. Having rented for years in Corolla this is the first time it felt more like a home than a rental. Wonderfully comfortable furniture inside and out and great beds. The surprising unknown was how abundant the wildlife was around this home. Deer, egrets, eagles and otters kept us entertained on almost a daily basis. The Village Realty staff in the Corolla office were instrumental in helping us complete a sizable real estate sale, kudos to the 3 ladies in the front of the office.

July 2018 Stay

Lots of thunder, lightning, rain. However, the house is accommodating with lots of places to read and watch your favorite movie. The sun did come out ( finally) and we enjoyed our stay very much. I love the layout of the house. The pool and hot tub are great. You do need to add a handrail down center of the stairs going from deck to pool. Overall we were very comfortable. Trolleys overwhelmed, you need more.

Positives; Great house and we loved the view. Nice amenities, pool, etc. and we absolutely fell in love with the community and all it offered. Shuttle to the beach was amazing. Negatives; the air conditioning has been sporadic at best. After the first day of dealing with it we called and had it serviced. It was missing freon, which means it is poorly maintained. The technician said he barely got the compressor running. It cooled from 80 to about 75-77 but wouldn’t cool more than that. It also seems that the system has been programmed to do a hold at random hours, upon which it stops blowing any air! Very uncomfortable, and honestly the only factor in causing us to pause in booking this home again next year.
