Perfect cottage on the 4x4 beach for an adult getaway or two families with kids. Consider this gem as a remote get-a-way with 9 miles of beach driving after the pavement ends in Corolla, adding to the fun. 4wd vehicles are a must for your trip to Splash of Lime.

Enter the main floor from your front decks and the space opens up to the great room with living area, dining space and fully equipped kitchen.

This main level has two bedrooms... one with a king bed and full private bath (walk-in shower) and the other with a twin-over-full bunk plus a separate twin. There is a full bath in the hallway, plus the laundry room.

The rear deck is off the kitchen and is perfect for sunsets and overlooks the pool.

Upstairs there is an identical setup to below... one king room with full private bath and another room with a twin-over-full bunk plus a separate twin. There is also another full bath in the hallway.

Ground-level below the house provides wonderful space for the hot tub, outdoor shower, charcoal BBQ grill, hammocks, hanging daybed, corn hole, picnic table, and plenty of space for games. Horses come by most days.

No parking allowed under the house is allowed, all cars must stay on the sand.

The pool is open mid-April through end of October. The pool can be heated for a $300 weekly fee in April/May and Sept/Oct.

Doggos are welcome! Pet fee is $250, an additional fee may be applied for multiple animals as appropriate, please check with Marty.

Would definitely stay here again! It was the perfect kitchen for a larger Thanksgiving meal and as a bonus, there were two fridges. The house was very clean with great access to the beach. From the second story, you can see the water. And of course, there were lots of horses.

Great house for our whole family

The house was perfect for our family of five plus a friend, and room for more. My kids of all ages had a blast. The beach is easy to walk to and the horses are everywhere. The owners answered our questions/concerns promptly and even helped us check in early.

Beautiful property with lots of amenities for your family. Marty and Rhonda were wonderful to rent from. This is a wonderful experience- would definitely recommend. Bring a 4 wheel drive and be ready to let the air out of your tires!

We loved our stay at Splash of Lime! Hosts were very responsive during our stay. Answered all questions prior to arrival and during our stay. The location of the house is perfect to have peace and quite and see the wild horses. The house also had many activities (games, puzzles, ect) and provided umbrellas and beach chairs. Beautiful home!

We had a great time at splash of lime. The pool was clean and beautiful and the hot tub was perfect. The bedrooms were spacious and sheets were clean and ready to go. Horses hung out in the yard in the evening which was pretty cool. The kitchen was well stocked with nice plates that looked like limes. The porches had comfy chairs and the patio had 2 hammocks and a swinging loveseat! All around we had a fun relaxing time at splash of lime!

Wonderful secluded beach home!

The property exceeded our expectations and was by far the cleanest rental home our family has stayed in. The home had everything you needed for a stay in 4x4. Marty was an exceptional host who went above and beyond to ensure we arrived safely and were enjoying our stay. We absolutely fell in love with Carova and highly recommend booking with Marty. The location of the home provides such a nice relaxing vacation away from the busy more central beaches of OBX. We saw horses everyday many times directly on our property. March in Outer Banks

The home enabled us to enjoy our stay in the Outer Banks. We were unfamiliar with the area and the 4X4 beach driving, but love learning new things. The weather was not the best, but with the comforts of the home, we were had a relaxing time playing games, enjoying the hot tub and binge watching TV. The place is quite clean. And I am very picky about that. So thank you for ensuring a comfortable stay.

We enjoyed 2 wonderful weeks in Carover in Marty‘s house, enjoying the space, the pool and hot tub and for sure the beach. We cooked a lot in the very well equipped kitchen. It turned out that the location of the house on the second raw is more silent and less busy then the ones in the first raw direct behind the dunes. but we saw the horses around the house nearly every second day! We may plan to come back and we can really recommend this house!

We absolutely loved every minute! This place was just lovely! Beautiful, clean and a total hidden gem - just secluded enough that we could really enjoy nature/the setting and really relax! It was even more beautiful than the pictures, and upon arrival was so clean and welcoming - even for a germaphobe and clean freak like myself, I was really impressed! The horses came right to the house several times and we were able to quietly observe and enjoy them from the houses raised decks - we got some great photos/videos! The kids loved this! The owner was amazing, very helpful and always quick to reply with any questions we had. We also really appreciated the little touches the owner added to our stay. We truly appreciate the chance to stay here and hope we can return in the future!
