The hotel main areas are in stunning condition after the refit. The rooms are in need of a definite revamp. The hotel is excellent for convenience to access travel links, being able to nip down the street or head out for something to eat lots of availablity in that respect but a good revamp in the rooms would set this hotel miles apart from the rest.

Very convenient to everything. Staff was extremely friendly & helpful. Negatives: no wash cloths, windows were broken or handle only reachable by standing on the bed, small rooms.

The hotel is in a perfect location of buses, the train station, shopping and restaurants. The breakfasts were wonderful and the staff very accommodating. We just loved Lorraine. She is a delight and treated us as family.

The Met is a lovely old hotel! The room was great, clean and quiet. They have a nice bar/restaurent and live piano background music on our day of arrival. Easy access to the shops, food and late night music if that what you want.

Excellent location near restaurants, bars, and cafes. Quick drive to Blarney Castle. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. Don’t miss breakfast!

Awkward for parking and drop off. Large stairs to carry luggage and limited room size. Needs some tlc. Reception on 2 floor. No place to drop luggage at front so had to use parking garage and drag luggage up staurs and down the street. For all their inconvenience breakfast should have been included.

Not worth the money.

Stayed here rolling a business conference and the noise on the street was crazy. Constant noise and I am not a light sleeper at all. The fan in the toilet would wake me up. The hotel is going unglued renovation and the banging starts at 8am on the nose. Nespresso advertised but 4 decaf pods provided. Poor.

The Metropole has undergone an impressive restoration and was a wonderful place to stay. We had to navigate the construction on MacCurtain St, but beyond that had easy access to Patrick Street and the shopping districts of Cork. The staff were lovely and the accommodations very comfortable.

Great location. Room was clean if a bit dated. Amenities fair. Not luxurious by any means, but very functional and conveniently located to central Cork. I probably would splurge for a bit more luxury next time, but if the price of the room were to meet your budget you won’t be disappointed.
