About this property
Stone Built in a Private Estate with Great Views and Privacy
This traditional stone-built property benefits from awe-inspiring vistas and wonderful secluded grounds; an ideal hideaway for those seeking a slower, more peaceful pace.
Well appointed above the hamlet of Porta and surrounded by greenery, the charm of the villa inside is the attention to detail throughout, with antiques and beamed ceilings adding unique character to the ambience. There is a large veranda at the front of the house. This spot is perfect for lunches in the shade, with a simple table and chairs and several pots of flowers and herbs. A few steps down, the infinity pool is a magnificent turquoise colour. With plenty of room to spread out, little terraces and patios operate on different levels within the grounds. Clearly delineated with stones is the original ‘thresher’s floor’ where horses or donkeys walking in a continuous circle would separate the grain from the chaff by crushing it on the hard surface. Ideal for breakfast, the main balcony that runs along the living area looks out to a glorious panorama of the Albanian mountains and the verdant hillsides that drop down to the Ionian Sea. Double French windows in the living area give light and an air of spaciousness to the interior. Comfy sofas cluster around the fireplace, and an elegant dining area is enhanced with dainty lace curtains filtering in the sunshine. A twin bedroom, decorated with pretty floral curtains and bedcovers, also has a fireplace. Another twin and a double bedroom (master bedroom) share the balcony that runs along the main area of the house, in prime position to enjoy the stunning sunrise.

Great place to relax. Up on the hills of Corfu with an amazing view and wonderful pool. Very kind host who takes care on his property. We hope to come back soon again.
Very nice and super accomodating host. Unique location, perfect for a relaxing vacation. Need a car. We will hopefully come back. The owner (Aristidis) was available all the time with very short turn around time for any kind of quedtions
We had a wonderful two weeks at this property - a beautiful house and location away from the hustle and bustle of the coast. The views are spectacular, the house well equipped and the pool lovely. A car is essential, as are nerves of steel. Mountain driving may not be for everyone. 2 mins drive to Kassiopi with shops/tavernas. We drove to many little bays in North Corfu and to Corfu Old Town (about 90 mins). Hiring a book is also a great way to see the coastline. There are many available (we used Fontas boats, Nissaki - good value and helpful intro on how to use the boat). Aristidis was a kind and thoughtful host, very responsive and quick to action any concerns.
This place is amazing! We spent a week here in October and were spoilt with sunshine. In the mornings we watched beautiful sunrises, later we mostly went about exploring the beautiful area on foot - you can actually walk out the back door and hike all the way up to Mount Pantokrator - or by car, which, yes, is a little bit tricky since Thresher's House is situated high up. The house itself is a gem. It was always easy to contact Aristidis and though we didn't get to meet personally we felt like real guests rather than paying ones. Thank you, Aristidis, for a wonderful week!
PPantokeator - or by car.
Villa was lovely and clean. The host Aristidis was very kind bringing fresh donuts and rolls for us. The property is surrounded by fruit bushes, fig trees grapes etc. We ate fresh courgettes picked for us out of Aristidis garden. You are 20 mins from kassiopi at the top of a mountain with spectacular views. There are 3 ways up the mountain we always followed the second route as it seemed far safer than the other 2 roads. You really need to arrive in daylight for your first drive up the mountain road.
We had such a great time we did not want to leave! The villa was beautifully decorated and the layout and pool was perfect with lots of different areas to relax, eat or take in the magnificent views
We have had a lovely two week's holiday in this beautiful Threshers House, Aristidis the owner is attentive, helpful and a very kind host.
We loved our stay.
We loved it at the house. It was so nice and the location was unique. It was a little separated from other houses and we really liked that.
The way to the house is an nice adventure!
Aristidis is a very nice host and such a lovely person!
Thank you
Thresher's house was everything we had hoped for. The photos on the website are wonderful but the reality is even better. Our 18 year old daughter said "the view is insane". I understand that to be the highest of compliments! The living space is great, with everything you need. Lots of thought by the owner Aristidis. From things like a smoothie blender, lots of utensils and cooking pots, DVD and CD player as well as a pool towel for every guest. It is however the outside areas that make Thresher's really magical. Different areas to have quiet reading time, coffee on the terrace in the morning enjoying the view, fun in the pool and even table tennis. Lots of sunny and shady areas to suit everyone. The villa also comes with 3 lovely cats, we fed them daily and they really show their appreciation. Affectionate but not at all intrusive and they patiently wait outside. The surrounding countryside is magnificent. We enjoyed a number of walks from Thresher's and even walked down to the coast through olive groves which was beautiful. Aristidis, his father and Matoula take great care in looking after Thresher's, making sure that all their guests have a special time. Aristidis even posted back to the UK my daughter's ukele that she had left behind. Thoughtful, kind and considerate. We really couldn't have asked for more. Thank you so much for a fabulous holiday.
The house is charming and the views are breathtaking. We really wanted a break from being in the city and the property was perfect for that.
The house is well equipped to make your own food, and there are plenty of dining options in Kassiopi and other nearby towns.
We would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful Villa in the mountains with glorious views.
Aristides was very attentive and a great host
Only downside is getting there. Be sure to take the long route that Aristide gives and do not use Satnav as it will take you left and a supermarket with a small sign saying P Sines which is entirely wrong and leads to an impassable ascent for anything but a land rover!
Do not take the first option either as this is very steep.
Take the longest option. It will tell you to take a left towards the sign for Porta. Just below the sign is a small sign indicating Thresher House. The turn is on a bend just before a big yard selling logs (on the right) about 2km from kassiopi. Once you have gone left follow the road for 5km up the mountain to Thresher House. Do not deviate and follow any other signs. Once you are there it is bliss!
