This hotel is in the old part of town, and understandably, the rooms are old and reflect the design of another era. The location is really excellent for sightseeing. Although it is right next to the cathedral, I never heard the church bells.
The main reasons for the less than stellar scores involved comfort items, like bath gel and shampoo, and adequate counter space in the bathroom. We got little sample packets of both shampoo and gel, but there is really not enough gel for a shower. The only space (other than using the bidet!) for toiletries was a small shelf that kept falling off.
The management provides coffee/tea and a snack at 4:30pm in their patio, and that is a nice touch. It also lets you meet some of the other hotel guests.
Because the windows face into that open patio, some guests leave their windows open to get fresh air without worrying about security. As a result, you may be treated to more noises coming from your neighbors than you bargained for.
All in all, though, I'd stay there again. You simply can't beat the location!
