The location in the hamlet of Water Newton is stunning and gorgeous walks through the countryside are abundant. "Had a lovely 2 night stay in this lovely cottage, set in a lovely friendly village with a great pub within walking distance from the cottage.The owner left us a lovely welcome pack for us and our 2 cocker spaniels which was greatly appreciated .Would definitely recommend, and we will definitely come back."

"The cottage was spotless on arrival, everything we needed was there fiona met us on arrival & explained everything to us & answered any questions that we had. Would definitely recommend staying in this cottage, we will definitely be back as we loved the quietness staying here"

"Nicely put together house. Handy for Oakham town centre, shops, pubs etc. 20 mins to Burghley House. Comfy beds. However, please do provide guests with a bit more info about what’s what in the house…A long mirror in the double room and a loo brush in the bathroom would be useful additions"

"This was a lovely little house. Very nicely decorated, very clean, great facilities and the host has done everything that they can to make you feel welcome. I didn’t know I wanted the hot chocolate but it was very welcome at the end of the day 😃"

"This cottage is lovely and we were so pleased to be presented with some freshly baked bread, fresh eggs and other things. The location is perfect for exploring and all villages etc are so close. Food in surrounding villages excellent, particularly the fox and the Wheatsheaf."
