"We only stayed one night as this was a landing spot for us after La Fortuna and before moving on to the south. I booked it mainly for the ability to do laundry and space to move around. We enjoyed soaking our feet in the pool this morning before rushing off to our next destination. "Great Location and View! Ilya was a great host and was able to give us a walk though of the condo upon arrive that was very helpful. Ilya also provided several recommendations for restaurants, groceries, and activities that made our stay very memorable. "We only booked one night for my family for a weekend getaway from Tamarindo, but wish we'd stayed longer! The house was very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen and plenty of towels. It's tucked back a bit from the lovely pool which is nice, it felt very private, and the property is very close to some terrific places to eat (and the beach, of course!). We also appreciated the access to a shared washer and dryer in good condition on-site. We hope to come back soon."

"Overall the property was lovely. For an all inclusive the food was good. Cauri was the biggest letdown food wise, it just wasn’t flavorful. Bamboo was the one we ate at twice the first time it was amazing. The 2nd it was awful, the food came out at various times, some incorrect items, and the fried ice cream was lukewarm dough. From what we understood they were short staffed that night and a large family that didn’t make a reservation but berated the staff until they were let in which ruined it for everyone waiting. Service can be slow. You have to check in at the buffet and then wait for them to seat you. Which can take anywhere from 1-10 min depending on the time and day. I can’t imagine how the wait would be during high season. With sit down dinner it’s the same, water comes quick but can take time for the server to come. The staff are lovely always friendly and happy to help. The property was in great shape and cleaned regularly. We did wish the adults only side was open (under renovations) as many parents just let their kids run wild or play drums with silverware at a quiet dinner restaurant. If you don’t want to parent on vacation then leave your kids at home. The beach was clean and the vendors were not pushy, you tell them no once and they move along. I did end up getting a $40 hour long beach massage and it was amazing. We typically don’t repeat destinations but would stay here again if we did"

"Margaritaville on Playa de Flamingo was great! Great food, drinks (try the Green Monster), comfortable room, local entertainment, walk to a beautiful beach, large pool, pool tables inside, local craft fairs, sunsets, short walk to shopping, restaurants, harbor, sailing, snorkeling, surfing, diving. Plan to stay put on Weekend Sunsets as the small dirt road get crowded with guests and locals. Enjoy you stay."

Secrets Papagayo - Adults Only - All inclusive

"I stayed at Secrets Papagayo in October when the resort was at 60% capacity, so it was pleasantly relaxed and never felt overcrowded. I’d read complaints about the shuttles, and it’s true that the steep layout makes walking around difficult. However, I never waited more than 10 minutes for a ride, even at 1 a.m. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and my room’s AC worked great. As a former military guy, I’m pretty easy to please: give me a clean room and cold air, and I’m happy! Pool chairs were limited, but we always found somewhere to leave our belongings. It wasn’t always within sight, though cameras covered the main pool area. I could see seating being a bigger issue during peak season. The food was good across the buffet, sushi restaurant, Seaside Grill, and Italian restaurant. Seaside Grill offers different lunch and dinner menus. My only minor gripe was having to wear long pants at the Italian restaurant in Costa Rica’s heat and humidity. As a single 36-year-old guy, I noticed most guests were couples celebrating honeymoons, anniversaries, or simply relaxing. Despite reviews mentioning a party atmosphere, I found it laid-back, although the off-season may explain that. The staff were attentive and even remembered my name. Special recognition goes to Dalay from the entertainment team! She led daily activities with infectious energy and personality and was genuinely one of the highlights of my stay. Overall, a great experience. I’d happily return!"
