Big Bear Lodge Retreat where friends & families gather and meet!

Experience Northern Michigan at it's best! Amazing views from beautiful 3 level log home on the 15th tee at Cedar Valley Golf Course. Full custom kitchen, laundry facility, great room with 23' ceilings, large family room, 2 Gas fireplaces, spacious decks, and attached 3 car garage. Will be decorated for Christmas the whole month of December & part of January.

Plenty of room to spread out in this 3200 sq. ft. three level home. Large deck and patio with large firepit outside. Enjoy cooking outdoors with our Weber Grill and a 36" Char Grill Griddle - perfect for making a variety of either breakfast, lunch or dinner meals on the Griddle! Enjoy our Hot Tub on lower patio off LL bathroom door with Bluetooth outdoor speakers. 8 Beach towels & 4 robes available for use.
Power Outages - Should you experience bad weather that causes a power outage in the area - no problem with our whole house generator that will keep you up and running like nothing happened allowing you to keep your vacation stay going!
Security Devices on Property - We have a Ring Doorbell on the main entry door on the porch that has video and audio recording capability. This is used for security purposes and also to allow us the ability to communicate with guests upon arrival if they have any problems entering the cabin upon check in.

Lovely home for family holiday

Very spacious comfortable and beautiful home to fit 4 generations of family and friends. Everything you need is available. Beds are numerous and comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub and flattop grill to make easy large breakfasts.

Wonderful family vacation!

We had the most amazing family vacation. We were able to telax and recharge emotionally, physically, and spiritually with 4 generations. Big bear Lodge is beautiful! Cant wait to go back!

Family Christmas

We had 17 guest ranging from 6-70 and there was something and somewhere for everyone. They truly have thought of everything. They even had sleds for the kids. We were were all extremly happy with the rental. It wasnt our home but we felt at home.

Good times in a great place

Our group has been staying at this property since 2012 and have lots of great memories here. It’s always been a great place in a fairly remote location, but the new ownership has taken the place up a few notches in quality and comfort. If you are looking for a place to rest, cook, eat, drink, and be together in comfort, this is it.

Annual Family Golf Trip

The best ever!

This place was overloaded with fun and everything you’ll need. We take cabin trips every year and this one was the best we’ve stayed at. More than enough space for our group of 10. The host was great with communication and quick with responses. I highly recommend this place for anybody looking for an outstanding getaway.

Friend Group Getaway

This place was exactly like the photos shown and so much more! It was very clean and tidy upon our arrival. There was more than enough living space to accommodate our group of 14. We really loved that there was a living space on all 3 levels, and the basement was a walkout so it didn’t feel like a “basement.” The hot tub was incredible! Overall cannot say enough good things about this place and the hosts.

94th Birthday Celebration

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating our Fathers 94th birthday . Loved the outdoor porch area were we spent most of the time relaxing and enjoying family being together. There was fun for everyone , golf course down the road and swimming pool just a walk away and not to forget the amusement park right down the road. The cabin had plenty of room for all of us and was very comfy and clean . We will for sure make this place a family tradition .

The Perfect Getaway

This beautiful lodge was the most peaceful, lovely gathering space for my group of friends to enjoy! The lodge has everything you could need for making meals, relaxing and sleeping peacefully. The property is gorgeous, and we especially enjoyed the big porch with the comfy swings and the hot tub. Brian was prompt to answer any questions and a very welcoming host. It was perfect for our group of 12. I wouldn't hesitate to book this treasure again! I will also note the lack of taxidermy - which is refreshing for a cabin up north!

Family Fun 2023

Nice house. Lots of games to play inside and out! Each bathroom was stocked with soaps, shampoo and whatever we needed. Plenty of room for large gatherings. The location was a little remote and on a dirt road, but that was not an issue for us. We did have to clean out the hot tub and the blackstone grill was super dirty when we went to use it, but overall it is a beautiful place and we enjoyed our stay!

FANTASTIC Stay

I hesitate to write this review for purely selfish reasons because I would like to try to keep this property a little more hidden. As the other reviews have already stated, the pictures do not do it justice. Everything is very well maintained. The furniture is up-to-date. All of the beds were comfortable. The top level patio is great. The fire pit is awesome! Really cannot say enough about this wonderful property. Owners are really great with communicating and addressing any concerns. The house pretty much has everything you need from wood to soap to bedding. Can't wait to go back.

Quad Trip

Went up on a 5 man quad trip to Huron Trails. The trails were some of the best trails and the only thing that was more impressive was the property owner's attention to all the small details. We are not a fussy group but the house was well thought ou,clean love the hot tub and have to admit even enjoyed the robs and slippers that was provided! This is just one of the many small details that he provided! The group all commented that it was one of the most thoughtful house and host we have stayed at. If I had to find something to complain about it would be the low water pressure and some of the furniture looked good but didn't function as it should. I am splitting hairs with these complaints, and over-all was a perfect stay!

Best Rental we have traveled to

We rented this property looking for an atmosphere to unplug and enjoy the beauty of winter. We had no idea what we had done until we got to the lodge. We found ourselves amazingly clean well thought out and put together home to be able to be enjoyed with friends and family. Enjoy the property for a three night stay, many adventures and great meals together. If you like the the outdoors and the ability to see the beauty in nature has to offer you have an amazing start with this lodge. We explored around the Au Sable river as well as many of the national forest roads both seasonal and maintained roads. We enjoyed sledding at the lodge, sitting in the hot tub or reading next to the hot fire and even an unexpected snowball fight.! Every detail was top-notch at this rental, if you wanted to go outside and have a fire all your necessities where adjacent to the door(lighter, marshmallow sticks, marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers) or maybe some time in the hot tub( robes, slippers, towels and everything needed to treat the hot tube after use) Maybe you just wanted to make dinner which was a blast with the help of they amazingly stocked kitchen with all the supplies you could want, including all the things you forgot at home. Filled with seasonings, oils, condiments and coffee everything you needed was there. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we actually looked for rental dates in the future, let me say they are hard to find and I understand why. This was a home away from home and everything our group needed not just another rental.
