I booked a single room, which was very small. My friends paid a little more for a standard room and had very nice rooms. Strongly suggest opting for a standard room!

The location was good and convenient to attractions. Unfortunately, some construction outside the hotel which was somewhat loud at times and affected the parking. Parking was available but must check in first for the parking card access. We did have a handful of small issues with the room ( bathroom door handle fell off, lime scale in coffee marker, no towels, tissue holder falling off, AC not working) that we addressed with the management and they were taken care of in a timely manner. Large room for European standards.

Great location. 8 mins walk from Cologne main station. Check-in was good. The staff is very helpful. Single room was perfect for me but probably not a good choice for a tall person.

Great stay👍
Great location - about a 10 minute walk from the Hauptbanhof - with a U Bahn station, some great bars and a supermarket within a short walk. Lovely, clean room with the added bonus of a Nespresso coffee maker. Bed was very comfortable.

Super nice hotel.
Best hotel we stayed at on our trip to cologne and cochem, The bed was so comfortable, pillows good and such a pretty inviting room. We had a bathtub which filled very quickly. Hotel close to the cologne main train station. Hotel staff very friendly. Loved this hotel. Next time in cologne, we are staying here.

We enjoyed our stay at Classik Hotel Antonius. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. The hotel is away from the Altstadt where I think most tourists would prefer to be but it is quite walkable. Generally the area around the hotel is quiet but there is only a short walk to lively areas. Whilst we were staying (Sep. 2022) the hotel was having some building work done. This meant regular breakfasts weren't available but the hotel was able to provide a satisfactory 'pack up'.

Does the job
The hotel was very clean and beds comfortable however the staff are quite hit and miss and not very knowledgeable about the local area. A few of the lightbulbs in the bedroom were not working which I asked to be replaced but didn’t happen. The shower is in the bath so exiting is not great if you are either small or unsteady on your feet as there are no grab rails and the floor is quite slippery when wet

Unhappy stay.
The receptionist was helpful at all times, directing me to my room, hailing a taxi on two occasions. But when I asked for an invoice. I was told I had to get that myself! Not happy about that. I also see now that there was a tax refund if I was travelling on business. This is correct, but no tax refund was offered by the hotel. The room was not serviced once during my 3-day stay. I ran out of tea-bags, and found the tea / coffee station near reception to be out of both varieties of black tea. I was only provided with bush tea in my room on my first day. I drink tea mostly. Bush tea is a poor substitute for black tea. No mat beside the bed, only one in the sitting room. I dragged that one to my bedside. I was asked for a late check out as I had a late flight and was allowed to stay till 13H00. Not happy about that. Nevertheless, the 2 hours extra was appreciated. Several times the house-keeping entered my room without knocking. No food was offered at the hotel. There was a fridge and stove in the room, but no cutlery, plates or cleaning materials. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and for the price, very disappointing.

Good hotel with excellent buffet.
The room was clean and comfortable. There is no air conditioning which was not a problem for me but might be a problem for some people. The buffet breakfast, which cost 13 euros, was excellent. It had everything including smoked salmon. There is plaza about three blocks from the hotel - Ebertplatz - with some very good restaurants, mostly Italian. There is also an underground station there.

Beautiful hotel, nice service, good breakfast, but no A/C ! Under amenities, a/c is listed. With absolutely no air circulation even with the windows and curtains open, at least in room 306 which looks exactly like the room in the picture, it was a very uncomfortable night. Also only one pillow! Should've looked at the picture more closely but it was a first in any hotel I've ever stayed in. An interesting place to cut back! I would not recommend staying in this hotel if the outside temperature is going to be over 70. A fan would've made all the difference. And otherwise, with it's excellent location and beautiful garden, I would've stayed another night as I had planned. By the way, there was a small dial on the wall, which I adjusted but it made no difference and there were no vents in the room.

Stylish, Comfortable Hotel Near Train
This hotel was perfect for our stay! The hotel is located a pleasant 5 minute walk from the main train station, on a fairly quiet street. The hotel itself was stylishly decorated, the courtyard beautiful (though the weather prevented us from enjoying it this trip), the staff friendly, and the restaurant was remarkably good (we had an excellent dinner one night, fabulous desserts another, and good complimentary breakfasts both days, and the waitress was very friendly and kind). We had only booked a room for 2, but ended up bringing our 7-year-old daughter, and the staff was able to make comfortable accommodations for her for just a small upcharge. The room was large and modern with comfortable bed(s), a table/work area, and it was also equipped with a refrigerator and sink area, which was unusual but welcome. The lighting was a little odd, but that was just a small detail and overall just fine. I hope to return to the Hopper in warmer months so that we can enjoy the courtyard!

i thought this hotel was actually pretty bad. it was advertised as a 4 star butbis nowhere near that. No ac, wi fi sucked, parking garage terrible. i stayed in a "suite", but it resembled a regular room. very disappointing.

Loved the Hopper!!
We had a junior suite and it was quite large. There were two separate rooms, one with a bed and one with a fold-down sleeping couch. We had two TV's, a nicely stocked refrigerator, and even a stove in case we wanted to cook. A nice coffeemaker would've been a perfect addition. At first, the beds seemed like they were too hard, but they were great for sleeping. Large windows in each room provided great views and just enough cooling at night. There's no air conditioning, so we were thankful for moderate temperatures during our stay in Cologne. Breakfast was wonderful, and the garden area was lovely. All in all, our stay was pretty great, and we'd stay there again.

The hotel was great. Very clean, modern and comfortable. I was hoping it was going to be directly in old town. The area was very quiet and serene. It was a bit of a walk to the old town and approx 10 minute walk from the main train station.

Excellent trip to Cologne at Carnival Time
We had a lovely stay at the wonderful Hopper St Antonius. It is a lovely hotel. The room was large and very comfotable with a nice view over the courtyard. The breakfast as excellent very fresh with good choices. We would thoroughly recommed this hotel it was an excellent choice.

Dissapointed.
My review is based on the single room, so probably the bigger rooms are better. I was very disappointed with my choice to stay in this hotel. The room was super tiny and just very uncomfortable and impractical. The owners tried their best to make a very unique and modern boutique hotel out of this fairly old building. Some of this succeeded, but the net result for me is that the room I had was very uncomfortable and extremely unpractical. the desk is so small that when your laptop is on it there is no space for anything else. there is no space to hang a towel or to place your suitcase. No heating in the room, so it was a bit chilly. No place to put your phone next to the bed while charging, etc etc. I strongly recommend you against staying in the single rooms in this hotel and hope the double rooms are better.

Hotel was smallish with a lot if character. And history. Set in side street. Breakfast and coffee great. Service if you needed it. Lovely central courtyard. Not too far from cathedral/station- 10 min walk . Rooms comfortable , quiet. Only criticism was that room was a little stark. We could have done with s comfy sofa! Stayed in junior suite.

Nice comfortable hotel, short walk from the city.
We stayed in the junior suite for one night only - room 12 on the 3rd floor. It is set at the rear of the property overlooking the courtyard. As there is a restaurant in the building, there was slight noise at the end of the evening, but not enough to disturb sleep. The junior suite consisted of an entrance corridor leading to a large room with TV/Sofas/dining table and a small kitchen (hob and sink) hidden behind folding doors. My only disappointment for the facilities was the lack of kettle for making hot drinks. The bedroom had very comfortable furnishings including TV and Dyson fan - the bathroom had a large walk-in shower but no bath. All windows had Juliet balconies with tilt and turn windows. Breakfast was very good - choice of cold meats/cheese, scrambled eggs/hot sausage, cold fish, lots of fruit, yoghurts and cereals. And plenty of options to drink. As it is served in the main restaurant there were plenty of areas to sit. The station is approx. 10 minute walk - out of the hotel, turn left, left again and then straight on. The river is about 10 minutes walk also. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and am glad I booked it based on reviews of other travellers.

NOT WHAT i EXPECTED
If you stay at a 4 stars hotel, paying 102 per night in Germany, you have some expectations on the hotel, but...NO reception at late night, terrible Wifi connection. I was given a room in which there wasn't even a desk (and this one was even smaller than the one i got when I asked for the the desk), the room was supposed to be 30 squared meter ( as stated in the description) but it was maximum 22-25sq.m . On the other side, the breakfast is good and they didn't want the garage to be payed, which was kind of them. Only one pillow in the room even if the room was double ( though I was alone). What I didn't expected was that to use the Sauna i should have alerted the reception one hour before and i should have payed 10 euros. The surroundings of the hotel are not the greatest in Cologne, but still for me were acceptable, no one bothered me. Lots of place to have lunch and shops supermarket around. In conclusion, I expected much more fr the price I payed, but if you keep in mind the cons, don't need a stable internet connection and the price is lower than 90e than it can be considered as an option.

Good place if you don't need wifi and hot water
I find that for less money you can get a hotel that offers the same unusable wifi and super small rooms. First of all I think there is a big difference between the room size advertised on hotels.com and the room you actually get in the hotel so that is misleading advertising from this hotel. Wifi was basically unusable. Breakfast was ok. Unlike other hotels they really respect your privacy - if you put the do not disturb sign on the door nobody will ever bother you. The biggest no no was when I wanted to take a shower at 11 AM and discovered there is no hot water but maybe they wanted their guest to have east european communist experience - who knows? To summ it up, I will not go there again simply because you don't get enough for your money and there are better price to quality ratios around.

Hopper Hotel was a great experience for both of us - our room was comfy and clean, with a nice view on the Dom from our 2 windows - it wasn't big but it was perfect for us. The morning buffet was good and the hotel is really well situated, not even 10 min walk from the central station, next to everything, in a quieter place. Take a little walk and you're already to the central station, next to the famous Dom and from there, you can go anywhere to visit the beautiful city of Cologne. Totally recommend this hotel!

Very disappointing
I am very disappointed with my stay at the hotel. The hotel advertised that internet connection was available, but I could not connect to the internet. The staff did not offer much help. I was given a really small and dingy room. Considering that the hotel was not even full, i believe that they could've given me a better room, especially given my inconvenience with the internet.

My only complaints: It was quite hot during our stay and there is no air conditioning. The fridge in our room did not work. It was reported and no action was taken. (That is room 104 if you are reading this Hopper Hotels)

Great stylish hotel in city centre
Great hotel. It is stylish, artistic, efficient and in the city centre, 5 minutes walking from the central station and the famous Cologne Dom. It has a mini bar and room safe. Cable TV but not a lot of English though. Breakfast is included and has a lot of variety. It also has a few local restaurants but you need to explore a few side streets by the Musik school. A 10 min walk straight down the road leads you to the Rhein and wonderful walks with many places to sit and eat. The restaurant in the hotel is not open for lunch or dinner on a Sunday
