Short city break for two
Very large and comfortable room with good clean facilities. There was no coffe maker or kettle though which seemed a bit odd for a 4-star hotel. Nevertheless, the locarion was great with just a short walk into the city centre and next to a S-bahn station, just one stop from the main railway station.

Not Good Value for Money
Booked two Superior Double Room for six nights, one of the room was not supplied with kettle, tea and coffee. Asked the reception, they said they have upgraded us for one of the rooms which provided kettle, tea and coffee. So the result was I paid that much money for Superior Double room with no kettle provision. For the TV, most of the channels did not have signal and cannot be watched. On the third day, the housekeeper did not top up coffee and tea, went down to ask the reception and they said they will get us some in a minutes. I waited all night and it did not happen. I was not impressed with this hotel. There is no lobby next the reception area, only a reception desk. To me, it does not look like a 4 star hotel.

Huge room, very clean, comfortable beds. Very good breakfast. Near a train station so you don’t need a car.

I hate when room description differs from reality
I did not like the hotel, depots friendly staff in the reception. I booked family room, supposedly two connecting rooms, but they were wide apart, so I let go one, despite paying for two.

The property was clean, the rooms were large, the staff was mostly nice. We couldn’t get a family room so they gave us two rooms next to each other. Unfortunately the rooms were right beside the train tracks, train’s actually made things rattle in our room. With the windows closed the sounds was reduced significantly but we still needed earplugs. I’m sure the staff would have moved us if we had requested, but we were already settled so one more night didn’t justify packing up again. Lots of bakery’s nearby for breakfast. We didn’t sample the breakfast at the hotel, but I’m sure it was very good. I’d stay there again

Great stay. Great alternative to staying immediately in the pricier city center but definitely still walkable to everything. We did not get breakfast but there are 3 bakeries a stones throw away.

Great place…wish we stayed longer.
This hotel is elegant and spacious. We are a family of four with one dog. The one night stay was absolutely amazing, which led to the regret that we didn’t stay longer. The hotel is in a decent area with all the amenities you could need. Breakfast was a classic German breakfast, but with a myriad of options. Parking was typical, the dog fee was cheap in comparison to other hotels. Close to public transportation and only a 16 minute walk to the Dom.

The rooms are very nice and spacious, breakfast was fabulous, the first room assigned was next to the parking and train tracks so it was very noisy but the next day we were moved to a top room very quiet and with great view, I was double charged for our bedroom however a helpful member of staff soon corrected the issue and ordered a refund.

Disappointment at the Azimut Hotel, Cologne
Disappointingly this hotel seems stuck in a 1970's decor warp in its entirety. I was particularly disappointed in the ambiance of the room, albeit very large in proportion, there was literally a 1.5 metre external wall blocking the external window view from our room on the 4th floor. When I asked the receptionist to change us to another, less obtrusive view he explained that all the rooms were of similar design, which on later enquiry proved not to be true. Only the 5th floor has this external design feature, of this protected building dating to the early 1900's.

The room was large but somewhat spare. I was on the top floor. It was very clean except a hard to see shelf area behind the toilet. The lobby is unimpressive. Ibis lobbies, especially those that have been renovated recently, are much more inviting. The area is fine but not very interesting. Location beside train can be loud, but it is very convenient to the S-bahn station Hansaring.

Simple check in and check out. Very large room, plenty of space. The noise mentioned by others did not bother us at all.Good location too.

Over all a very nice hotel. Clean and quiet rooms, good service and close to the downtown area.
