We had a pleasant stay! The home was in a very convenient location—close to everything we needed, which made getting around super easy. The house itself is older and shows its age a bit, but it was clean and had all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Thanks for having us!
Property was as advertised, great dog friendly home. Location and neighborhood were great.
Communication with host was great prior to visit and during.
We satyed for a long weekend with my elderly father, and could not be happier with the house. Great location close to downtown, great backyard so our dogs aren't cooped up, and very cozy and comfortable. Easy check in and check out. 10/10 would stay again!
We had a wonderful stay here. If anyone has concerns about other reviews, as I did, I contacted the company to ask and they explained what they did to remedy the issue. Our family felt safe and had no worries with people randomly coming into the home while we were there. It was comfortable and nice. We were greeted most mornings by the neighborhood deer which was nice. The location is perfect for visiting downtown Cody as well as Yellowstone. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!
Not quite as close to town as we had hooed, but definitely walking distance. Clean and well stocked, but for certain used as "pet friendly." We are not indoor pet people so we noticed the pet hair that lingered but i would still consider the home clean and comfortable.
My family of 3 stayed in the Red Door Retreat for several days. The house had great charm, including a fully fenced yard (and dog door!) for our senior dog. My daughter loved the piano! It was walkable to downtown and the grocery store - all the conveniences nearby. The beds were comfy, the place was clean. Not much more we could’ve asked for!
We came into town to see some friends. The house was easy to locate. It’s a cute older house that has been kept up and it was so cool to see a lot of older touches that were probably original to the house. We had everything we needed. Our dogs enjoyed running around the backyard. We even ran into the neighbors and they are very nice. We did end up leaving early for family reasons, so didn’t get to stay more than one night, but we will be back!

Short stay in Cody
We had mixed feelings about this property. It was in a good location close to town but a fair amount of neighbor noise. It had a nice backyard for our dogs which was convenient. The furniture was very comfortable, both the bed that we used as well as the living room furniture. Good washer and dryer. The kitchen was ok as far as tools for cooking but maybe a bit sparse. Kitchen cupboards are older in keeping with the age of the house but the drawers were hard to open and close as were the windows throughout the house. The carpet was very stained and unappealing and the house really needs fresh paint. We just got a sense of a slightly neglected property which was disappointing. All in all it met our needs but we would not rent it again.
The house was very comfortable. I loved the large kitchen. It would be perfect for a holiday gathering. The house was very warm. The backyard was cute and we loved the deck. We were happy to be able to bring our dog and have a safe place for her. The backyard was fully fenced. The only thing we would have liked was a snow shovel. The small skiff turned to ice. Would of been nice to have been able to move the snow. The location is convenient to Greybull hill and downtown. We will stay again.

Dog smell
I felt the description of the house having air conditioning was inaccurate. The house is equipped with a large window fan that only properly works if you open windows in the house. Personally 2 out of 4 people staying in the house has Allergies and so the other windows were not opened. With the air that was brought in also brought in the smells and nose of the porch party going on next door both nights we stayed there. There was also an overwhelming dog smell in the house along with stains in the carpeting. However the beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room for all of us and the washer and dryer came in handy.
Upon arrival the inside of the house was very cold, no heat was on. I was able to turn on the baseboard heat, took overnight for the house to warm up. Made contact with the host who apologized. Our day of arrival was in t cold and in the 30’s. I explained to the host that not having heat upon arrival was very discouraging and that an older house would take a long time to get warm. We did have a good time in Cody and Yellowstone. The host sent a text reminding us check out was the next morning at 10, I replied that we would be out at 10 AM. The morning of departure I took our dogs out and while out my wife was sleeping. At around 7:30 am some people unlocked the red door and left cleaning supplies inside, during this process they woke up my wife causing a very stressful waking. This property has a history of others entering the house when it has been rented, see the May 2022 review. If comfort and security are a priority for you do not book this Red door disaster
We had trouble getting on with the code. The door sticks. The front window needs scraping and painting. Not a great first impression but inside was great.
