Montezuma is a very small town. Great for relaxing but not a lot more to do than that. NYA hotel and staff are great. Facility is very nice and just outside of the downtown area.

Hotel is right by the beach with great staff. Restaurant was quite good. My only complaint was there was nowhere to sit in the room besides a very uncomfortable desk chair. Also lots of mosquitoes. They should put fans in by the bar

Stunning hotels nestled in nature

Beautiful hotel and grounds. Nya is located a short walk from Montezuma. The grounds are stunning with pathways through lush forest. There’s little nooks with hammocks, a yoga platform, and gorgeous pool. Sitting at the pool and watching monkeys, squirrels and tropical birds was amazing. We ate breakfast and one dinner in the restaurant. Breakfast was a great start to the day with the daily juice, varied menu and coffee. The bar had a great happy hour, with a fun bar tender who made delicious cocktails. I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Montezuma

Nya is a beautiful property with wildlife all around. I was able to watch a family if howler monkeys from the hammock outside my room. They left me a yummy dessert daily in my room they put in while I was out. The free breakfast menu had a variety of options including vegetarian. Property is town so walkable and beach is right across flyer road from the property. Got the best massage there as well.

Very nice property in this quaint town. Service was impeccable. Complimentary breakfast was wonderful. Excellent water pressure. Property was located steps from beach and town. The beach in this area is a little rocky, but a 20 minute hike to Playa Grande and you will be at one of the most gorgeous beaches for surfing and swimming. It includes a nice little water hole on the way. If I go back to this area, I would stay here again. Nice job NYA!

Lovely hotel....restaurant staff needs help.

The front desk clerks were super helpful, welcomed us with sparkling wine and at first we felt at home. Had a lovely yoga session. The rooms are small but great balconies with surrounding trees and animals. I loved being right in town. The main complaint was staff in the restaurant. At dinner and at 2 breakfasts we really felt like we were putting the staff out by just being there, it was not a welcoming restaurant. Overall I did enjoy the hotel though.

Nya is a beautiful property, secluded and peaceful but right on the edge of town so everything is walkable. The room was immaculate, large, and well lit; the grounds beautiful, and the pool area was shaded and quiet and very clean. It’s an oasis of calm in paradise. One complaint - the restaurant looks lovely, and the food is very good, but it’s expensive, the service is poor, and there is simply not the same care factor as for the rest of the property. It’s a shame, because with a little improvement it would be outstanding. A particular note - it turns out that while the menu marks many items as gluten free, they are not, in fact, gluten free. As a coeliac, this is a problem for me - it did not seem to bother the restaurant staff though!! My summary - stay here, but take advantage of the proximity to town and eat elsewhere - there are much better options.

5 star prices with 1 star service

This hotel has 5-star prices with 1-star service. The hotel is in a good location, nice decor and style. The room was comfortable and clean. The food was OK. However, the service was terrible. Everyone who works there is incapable of working in the service industry, they forget things so you have to ask many times, they got overwhelmed easily and barely anyone was staying there. They mixed up our drink order and charged us more for drinks, when I brought it to their attention they seemed annoyed and challenged me so I had to explain repeatedly the drinks we actually had until they agreed to change the bill. At the pool the sun was going down and it was a little cold, there were no towels, I went up to ask for some, they said they would bring them. I went back up two more times and waited nearly 30 mins, each time they told me to wait but the children were getting colder. In the end I walked up dripping wet into reception and asked for towels, he pretended to not know anything about us needing towels by the pool. At happy hour they encourage you to have a drink from the bar, they took over 30 minutes to make our drinks, there were only 4 other guests, not busy. But the worst part was the person at breakfast every day who was so miserable and unfriendly. She was unhelpful, seemed like we were an inconvenience, made the whole experience unpleasant. You have to ask over and over again for anything you need, not good when staying with small children. A smile would go a long way.

We really enjoyed the service and food in the restaurant. It's that feeling when food is prepared with love. It was very tasty and clean! While we were waiting for our main courses, they brought us crispy bread with cheese spreads, and for dessert, we got to try fruit ice cream, courtesy of the restaurant. The waiters were very friendly, especially Artur. He makes delicious non-alcoholic cocktails and will recommend one to suit your taste! He's a very welcoming guy. The hotel is budget-friendly, but very clean, and the sheets and towels smell nice and fresh.

The property is tucked into the jungle close to town and the beach. The sound of the surf is relaxing. There is always wildlife on the property: birds, monkeys, aguatis, iguanas. It's a great spot. The staff is friendly and helpful. Good restaurant. Great breakfast options.
