Your Adventure Basecamp On the South Cumberland Plateau

Perfectly located for Tennessee's best outdoor experiences: The Caverns underground concert venue (19 mi) • Coalmont OHV Park (11 mi) • Fast Farms MotorX (11 mi) • Greeter Falls (7 mi) • Foster Falls (12 mi) • Savage Gulf State Park (13 mi) • South Cumberland State Park (15 mi) • plus hundreds of miles of hiking trails, waterfalls, and dark sky stargazing right from our property.

    THE SPACE

Sometimes the best luxury is simplicity. Our 130-square-foot canvas Glamping Tent strips away the noise of modern life and leaves you with what matters: a comfortable queen bed, the sound of wind through trees, and a front-row seat to nature's daily show.

The tent itself is cozy and well-appointed, with a real bed (not a cot), quality linens, and enough space to feel comfortable without feeling cluttered. Step outside onto your private 130-square-foot deck, the real heart of this space. Picture yourself here with morning coffee, watching mist rise off the pond, or evenings under more stars than you remembered existed.

Your private bathroom is located in the nearby bathhouse, just a 41-second walk away. It's a short, easy path, and you'll have the bathroom entirely to yourself during your stay. The bathhouse also includes a coffee bar with a Keurig and ground coffee, plus a cabinet with cooking utensils and dishes.

This is true off-grid glamping. The tent is not climate-controlled, but we provide a 1500W space heater for cooler months and a fan for warmer weather. Spring and fall are ideal, though hardy souls love it year-round.

    Important Notes:

    Climate Control:

The Glamping Tent is NOT climate-controlled. We provide a 1500W space heater and a fan, but expect temperatures inside to generally reflect outdoor conditions. Best enjoyed in spring and fall.

    Woodland Setting:

Our tent is truly immersed in nature, which means occasional insect guests are part of the experience. You may encounter ladybugs (considered good luck!), beetles, the occasional spider, and various flying insects inside. We use natural, non-chemical pest treatments and maintain regular cleaning, but complete bug-free living isn't possible in a forest setting. If you're looking for a sterile indoor environment, our woodland glamping experience may not be the right fit.

    THE PROPERTY

Wander our 18 acres of pesticide-free woods with hiking trails, a peaceful pond (say hello to our friendly Muscovy ducks!), two creeks, and quiet spots perfect for reading or simply breathing. Discover our picnic area nestled in a beautiful creekside meadow surrounded by tall grasses, thousands of lush ferns, and delicate Lady Slippers. You might spot deer, or a flock of wild turkeys, wandering by; this is their home too.

Our quirky flock of ducks and chickens roam the property freely, keeping mosquitoes and ticks naturally low. Seriously, it's amazing how few mosquitoes you'll encounter, considering we're in the Tennessee woods!

The trade-off for greatly reduced mosquitoes and ticks is some periodic noise from our hens and roosters. We keep the chickens contained in the Coop until 8:00 AM. After 8:00 AM, you will hear periodic crowing, and the hens may perform their "egg song" after laying an egg, because they are very proud when they do!

They're friendly, harmless, and always appreciate leftover snacks. Additionally, the chickens and ducks may hang out around your unit. They are harmless and usually won't bother you much.

Our Friendly Border Collies: We have four very friendly Border Collies who live on the property. Our dogs stay in our residence or their secure kennel at all times, except for supervised bathroom breaks and exercise (playing fetch). They never enter guest units. While we do our best to let them out when guests aren't around, you may occasionally see them outside under our supervision.

Our Border Collies are 100% non-aggressive but may enthusiastically run up to you expecting pets and attention. If you're uncomfortable with the possibility of a friendly dog encounter, please let us know ahead of time and we'll make every effort to accommodate your needs.

    ADVENTURE AWAITS

The Caverns (19 mi): This isn't your average concert venue. Descend into a massive natural cave where the temperature stays a perfect 59 degrees year-round, and the acoustics are so pure that PBS films performances here. It's been named ACM's Theater of the Year, and once you experience live music in a giant cavern underground, you'll understand why.

Waterfalls Within Easy Reach: Greeter Falls (7 mi) • Boardtree Falls (7 mi) • Bridal Veil Falls (11 mi) • Foster Falls (12 mi) • Laurel Falls (12 mi) • Blue Hole Falls (20 mi) • Machine Falls (28 mi) • Rutledge Falls (38 mi) • Fall Creek Falls (43 mi), Tennessee's highest at 256 feet

State Parks & Trail Systems: Savage Gulf State Park (13 mi) offers some of the most dramatic gorge scenery in Tennessee. South Cumberland State Park (15 mi) connects to over 90 miles of hiking trails. Fall Creek Falls State Park (43 mi) is Tennessee's most-visited state park, with good reason.

    For the Adrenaline Seekers:

Coalmont OHV Park (11 mi): Tennessee's premier off-road vehicle park with trails for all skill levels Fast Farms MotorX (11 mi): Motocross tracks and riding areas

    GOOD TO KNOW

We (your hosts) live on the property but maintain your privacy. You'll rarely see us unless you need something. We're always available for quick help or local adventure recommendations.

The Glamping Tent is located in a beautiful, secluded, and quiet remote area, and is one of the most centrally-located accommodations to many State Parks, hiking areas, waterfalls, The Caverns, and Fast Farms MX. However, the closest grocery store is an 8-minute drive, the closest restaurant is a 10-minute drive, and the closest gas station/convenience store is a 7-minute drive. The good news? Amazing hiking and waterfalls are within a 10-minute drive, and many more incredible attractions are just a bit farther away.

This isn't a luxury resort; it's a genuine nature experience. If you want perfectly manicured grounds, room service, and zero wildlife encounters, this isn't your place. But if you want to fall asleep to crickets, wake up to birdsong, and feel truly disconnected from the chaos of everyday life, welcome home.

You will have access to your unit, plus a few walking trails towards the back of our 18-acre property.

We are available 24/7 via the phone number provided (voice or text). Please note that messages sent through the booking platform's messaging system may not be seen from 11pm until 8am. Please use the phone number for best access.

This is a unique and special stay! We want your expectations to be exceeded! Please make sure you review the entire listing prior to booking.
