"If it weren’t for the kindness of the host, who accommodated us for an early check-in and late checkout, I would’ve given this zero stars. It’s totally rundown, looks like it hasn’t been power washed in 20 years, as soon as you walk up it smells like mold. The listing doesn’t tell you that it’s on a main street. "The cottages are all clean and the grounds are nicely kept. The cottage was just as described with plenty of room. We wished we could spend more time there on this trip, but we will come back again for a longer stay."

"The overall property on the outside was clean and well maintained. The parking lot was smooth. The lobby was small but clean and smelled good. The guest room was cleaned. It needs to be updated on the carpet and bathroom. The tub and shower walls were peeling of paint and the sink was too low even for a short 5'1" person. The air conditioning was strong, so with the toilet flush. The water flow in the shower was weak. Gas station and a chinese restaurant next door."

"Checked in late , 2100 hours. Once in the room, one bed looked as though it had been slept in. It was unmade with all pillows stacked on it. Trash can was full. Towels hung over shower door. Called the answering service since the office was closed. The manager’s wife talked to me. The manager came by to “verify” that the room has not been serviced. The two of them offered an upgrade to a room with 2 kings and a view of the lake. This room was clean. I also got a later check out time by 2 hours. It was a hassle though."

"The Tropical Lakefront Retreat was everything we needed for our trip, and we would recommend to others to enjoy. The location was absolutely perfect for boating/fishing out to the lake! Plenty of room for the group to enjoy! We will definitely book with Elsa and Robert again.Cheers"
