My daughter-in-law said it well when she said "It's better than the pictures". We loved the master suite and the work station with the view of the mountain best of all.
The description of this home is exactly as described on the site. Beautiful, spacious, clean, quiet. Were able to watch deer from the screened in porch that were crossing in the woods. Several trails are located are within about a 10-15 minute drive at most as well as shops, yet the home is far enough up into the mountain that you do not hear the traffic from below. Hostess was available when we had a question and was more than accommodating. Hope to be able to stay again sometime!
This house has so much to offer. It is an excellent home base for your Georgia mountain experience because it is close to "downtown" Clayton's stores and restaurants but is also tucked away in the woods with a beautiful view. It is a convenient drive to many local attractions such as hiking trails, waterfalls, etc.
We were looking for a house that my disabled husband would be comfortable in, and this one was perfect. It is well-appointed with many handicapped-friendly features such as grab bars, wide doorways, and no rugs.
We had visitors while we were there and cooked several meals. The kitchen is very well-equipped and the dining table is big enough for a large family.
We would not hesitate to recommend this property.
This property is so beautiful and comfortable. My sister and I took our 94 year old mother for a little getaway. Quality abounds every where you look - for example, the linens and sheets are so nice, beds are comfortable and everything you would need in the kitchen, they had. Mom walks with a walker and asked me to mentioned how spacious the place was for her. Large bathrooms and walkways and tastefully placed handles to help her in the bathroom.
We also liked being on the mountain but it didn’t take long to get down and into town - just a couple of minutes. The view from the sunroom window which you can also see from the kitchen window, the family room and the back porch is spectacular. Lucy was great to deal with and I know would be ready to help if we would have needed any. We would definitely come here again.
One quick hopefully helpful comment: Google maps was inaccurate and told us we had arrived before we had. We switched to Apple Maps and found that we just needed to continue to the end of Prime Hill Drice and it dead ends at the rental property.
My husband and I were looking for a quiet, dog friendly property, where we could just unwind from the stresses of life! Our son and his girlfriend joined us for one night after they saw the lovely photos! The home sits at the top of a small mountain about 5 minutes from downtown Clayton. The view in the pictures does not do this place justice. It is simply beautiful! It is in a perfect location to visit other areas of northeast GA and even areas in NC (Franklin, Highlands, Cashier). We cooked in mostly and found the kitchen well-stocked with everything we needed and a grocery store is located at the base of the mountain. Even a large family will find the kitchen and dining area spacious. The bedrooms and bathrooms were beautifully decorated and furnished. We especially enjoyed the sitting area in the master bedroom. If you have dogs, you'll love the laundry area/mud room. They even provide a dog bed and blankets! Our host, Lucy, was always accessible and replied to me very quickly when I had questions. She was very responsive and helpful! This was a wonderful trip for us and fortunately, we only live about 60 miles away--which means we plan to come back in a few months!!
5 Stars – Serene Mountain Getaway with All the Comforts of Home!
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home! The house was immaculate, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a quiet mountain retreat. The view of the mountains from the porch was absolutely stunning — we enjoyed our morning coffee and evening wine soaking it in. The open-concept layout made it easy for our group to stay connected while cooking in the impressively stocked kitchen or relaxing around the house. The master bedroom was a dream with its king bed and jetted tub. The other bedrooms were also very comfortable, especially the queen room with its own TV. The bunk room was perfect for kids or extra guests and had a convenient hall bath nearby. The small desk area was a huge bonus — the perfect spot to get a little work done or plan out our hiking and fishing excursions for the day.The location couldn't have been better— just a quick drive to groceries, and downtown Clayton. We also took advantage of the nearby hiking trails and river adventures, which were all within easy reach. The home had fast Wi-Fi, strong AC, plenty of towels, and a nice washer and dryer — truly everything was covered. Most importantly, the host was fantastic — super easy to communicate with, very accessible, and genuinely accommodating. She made the whole experience even more enjoyable and stress-free.All in all, this place is a gem — peaceful, beautifully maintained, and incredibly well-equipped. We’ll definitely be back!10/10
