New hot tub! We also have a whole house generator and Starlink internet! The classic elegance of our modern rustic home nestled in the tree tops and the phenomenal 10 layer mountain views promise to deliver the mountain experience you have been dreaming of. Since everyone who stays at Kleinhaus is from somewhere else, we believe in concierge hosting, before, during and after your stay. Questions on where to eat or what to do while staying with us? Just ask, I am happy to help where I can!

For dining, Kleinhaus is conveniently located to Lake Burton, Clayton, Hiawassee, Sky Valley, Franklin, Highlands and Cashiers North Carolina.

There are plenty of attractions within a few miles to keep you occupied. Minutes down the road, the Tallulah River offers kayaking in the spring and year round trout fishing. If you prefer catching, Andy’s Trout Farm near Dillard can hook you up and they’ll even clean your catch! Only a few miles from Kleinhaus and you are on beautiful, crystal clear Lake Burton. Nearby Anchorage marina offers boat rental and other water sports during the summer months. Just down from the marina on Charlie Mountain Rd. there is a sheltered swimming beach perfect for all ages. Finally, don’t forget to take a beautiful scenic drive to view the numerous waterfalls in the area and hiking in the Nantahala Wilderness Area and Chattahoochee National Forest.

Rabun county and the surrounding area offers plenty of activities like antiquing, the Georgia Wine Highway and it’s fabulous wineries, Georgia and South Carolina apple orchards, Osage Farmers Market, the Tiger Drive In, Georgia Mountain Fair, Dillard House, hiking, zip lining, white water rafting, hunting, fishing, shopping in Highlands and Cashiers North Carolina, boating, swimming, kayaking, wildlife viewing, waterfalls, leaf peeping in the fall, gem mining in Franklin North Carolina, casinos in Cherokee North Carolina, skiing in Sky Valley and North Carolina, Smokey Mountain National Park and general sightseeing . All this and we are only about 2+ hours from Atlanta!

PLEASE NOTE: We are on top of a mountain ridge. The road is paved to the top, you do not need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. If you are used to driving on flat terrain, please understand to get the views, you have to go up so please don’t rate us down for location. We do provide firewood and we do provide propane for our gas grill.

We had the best family time. My kids loved the hot tub and the water was clear and sparkled. The separate private sleeping areas were great for our 5 adults and 2 kids. The kitchen is the most well stocked we've ever rented. We could have stayed at the cabin the whole trip and been happy, but were glad to have found Black Rock Overlook and FoxFire Museum. Just an absolutely stunning mountain home!

Family reunion

The house is absolutely perfect to enjoy friends and family! The fire places and fire pit were amazing. There is everything you could need and the hot tub was a hit! The bedding and rooms were comfortable and spacious. The kitchen for meal preparation and the gas grill were perfect. The best part of it all….the host, Lisa is so kind and helpful. A truly perfect stay!

Convenient and great architecture

Very close to Clayton, Lake Burton, Tallulah River hikes, and Atlanta really. House is very well designed, can easily accommodate two families with the three private bedrooms plus a kids room. Great shared spaces, the basement is great for kids and lots of nooks to hang out on the main level. Property is at the very top of a local mountain, so very private and great views all around. Outdoors looks nicer than the photos with new landscaping.

Highly recommend!

A perfect place to unwind with family. Spacious, cozy, and very clean! Beautiful views, especially late afternoon and early evening. We loved our time by the fire at sunset. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed to cook home-cooked meals. Everything was perfect. The town of Clayton is wonderful! The White Birch Coffee Shop has delicious coffee and baked goods. Lisa was helpful to answer any questions.

Family Vacation

The property was beautiful. The property had not been cleaned. Cleaning service came right away and all was well. The fourth bedroom was downstairs in an unfinished basement. What a surprise! Overall the property is quite lovely and all went well. I would recommend this property to others for a great time away.

Beautiful home with wonderful views. Ate all our meals at home & everything we needed was there- pancake griddle, waffle maker, grills - everything. Family of 9 adults, 3 children, plenty of space (9 yr old especially enjoyed hidden room). From reviews, thought bunk room with 5 beds was in unfinished basement, IT. WAS NOT., We wanted to be close to Tallulah River for trout fishing and we were about 5 minutes away, just as Lisa said. We will be staying here again. Lisa was an excellent host

Cabin Heaven

This cabin was beautiful, and the views were absolutely amazing!!! The family room furniture and the bedrooms accommodated our large family perfectly. We really enjoyed the fire pit , the fireplace in the screened porch, and the one in the family room. Each room was nicely decorated and the kitchen was very well equipped. We rent a mountain cabin every other year, and this is the first time my children want to return to the same cabin ! Clayton has so many things to do… snow tubing… horseback riding … Tallulah Falls are a short drive away! Lisa was always readily available for any questions ! We enjoyed enjoyed every minute of our trip!

Family Fall Break

It was the perfect spot for us to land for a short fall break trip. The view was great and the house fit us perfectly. Some of the windows were covered with plastic and painters tape that impacted the view from certain areas of the house but I think they were having some painting done. Also, there is an awesome basement space that would have been GREAT if it was finished. The kids didn't want to go down there because it seemed scary/unfinished.

Annual Ladies Cabin Trip

The cabin is beautiful and the view of the mountains is amazing. The cabin is equipped with everything you need in a home away from home. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, utensils, etc. The cabin is very spacious. We were greeted everyday by one of the neighborhood dogs. The road that leads to the cabin is a bit scary at first, the incline is insane. The second day of our trip we figured out how to tackle the road. The beds could definitely use some new mattresses. The current mattress are worn out we all could feel the springs on every bed in every room. The bunk beds are not sturdy, they wobble at the slightest move. Overall we had a blast! Thank you!
