This house is built at an elevation of 40 feet above sea level with ocean views from every room. The deck, balcony, covered porch and all rooms are above the tree line to catch the breezes and for fabulous views of Clarence Town Harbour and the Atlantic Ocean. Three cays (islands) situated between our beach and the Atlantic Ocean stop large waves and provide us with a gently sloping, sandy beach free of currents and undertows. The calm water and long beach make this a classic. Lochabar 'Blue Hole' is a short walk on the beach. This is a perfect place for a peaceful, secluded, sunny and quiet getaway, yet only 3-4 minutes from bars & restaurants.
Our home and accommodations have much to offer. Our gated driveway will lead you to the house we built as our private vacation home. It is well-maintained and extra clean. It features 3 full size bedrooms, each with A/C, ceiling fans, queen size beds, and private en-suite bathrooms.
We have a large covered and screened entrance porch with grill, ceiling fan, table and chairs. Perfect for outdoor dining or relaxing in the shade. Great for the infrequent rainy days! Large 16' X 20' deck facing the ocean, extending out above the tree tops, ideal for sunbathing. The ocean-side top floor balcony with access from two bedrooms is a relaxing spot to enjoy sea breezes and the never ending view. Fully equipped kitchen. Laundry room.
We are one mile south of Clarence Town and a twenty minute drive from Deadsman's Cay Airport (airport code LGI). Clarence Town has a convenience store/bakery, gas station, shopping, the new Flying Fish Marina Restaurant & Bar, and Winterhaven Restaurant & Bar.
ACTIVITIES: swimming, snorkeling, beach-combing/shelling, fishing, diving, kayaking, hiking, exploring the island, sightseeing--checking out plantation ruins, caves and the 663' deep Dean's Blue Hole, Long Island Museum, or just relaxing in the sun.
The possibilities are endless--you'll need more time.
AMENITIES: Linen and towels included. Clothes washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, refrigerator with ice maker, air fry electric range with oven, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave oven, toaster, toaster oven, coffee maker, Keurig, bread maker, blender, gas BBQ grill, dishes/utensils(service for 12), pots, pans, etc., 100 plus book library. Sand chairs. TV with Roku streaming stick and Amazon Firestick (sorry, no cable or satellite dish), a selection of DVD movies. High-speed Starlink Internet & WiFi. 3 one-person kayaks and life jackets that are provided and required for kayak use. Bone fishing guide information available.
Area: Clarence Town, the capital of Long Island and the principle harbour on the east coast of Long Island, is one of the prettiest settlements in the Bahamas and has 2 twin-spired churches with a most interesting history as they were both designed and built by the late Father Jerome, an architect and religious figure well known throughout the Bahamas. You can visit both churches and it is possible to climb the narrow passage up into the towers of St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church for a spectacular view of Clarence Town, the harbour and dock, Atlantic Ocean, and the Lochabar Beach area and cays. Long Island is for adventurous-type people who love remote places.

This property was more lovely in person than the pictures could ever portray. We had an amazing, relaxing stay. The outside of the house was as stunning as the inside and the views are indescribable. I wish we could have stayed longer!!
We had a great stay at Ron's place and have already booked for next year! The home was very clean and spacious with a beautiful view from every room! Looking forward to next year.
Absolutely amazing house and spectacular location. House was very clean and had everything needed. Host was very helpful and we had no issues at all. We look forward to another stay at this location.
This was a wonderful place to stay. Very cozy and relaxing with amazing views from the house. Everything was supplied for a great time at the beach. We would definitely come here again!
Thanks for sharing your home!
My husband is a dual citizen of the Bahamas and the United States. We come back to Long Island at least once a year. We adored the house, the location, and the view and we will without a doubt be planning our future stays on Long Island at this home.
The pictures do not do this property justice. Actually I don’t think pictures can do this location justice. It’s beautiful. The owner has done an amazing job of creating an inviting environment. If you’re looking for a remote, low key place to rest, relax and enjoy the beauty of an out island, this is your place.
My wife and I visited for 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute of it. The house is exceptionally clean, Nancy the house manager was easily accessible and knowledgeable. The property had everything we needed and more. If you are looking to decompress, this is an excellent house to do just that. We visited for the first two weeks in November and had only seen 1 person on the beach during our entire stay. Restaurants, pubs, the bakery and grocery stores are all nearby. We will be back for certain.
Great stay overall. We went on a down time of the island so we didn't see anyone on the beach at all! Location was great, beach was great, snorkeling wasn't much to see until you ventured out closer to the little islands and/or the blue hole near the house. Did see a shark while snorkeling though...that was a little scary but cool. For sure, use the kayaks to go to the little islands in front of the house at low tide...lots to see and really cool at low tide. House was exactly as advertised and very comfortable. Long Island was as well.
Ron's home is well appointed with a well outfitted kitchen and gas grill. Great grocery availability on the island. One of our party had food allergies so we prepared all by two meals at the house. The deck facing the ocean was our favorite place for morning coffee as we planned our day. The screened porch at the back was lovely in the evenings providing refuge from the no-see-ums that often make after dark grilling a challenge. We used they kayaks almost daily with lots to explore in the nearby bay, lagoons and Hell's Gate. Lovely property, thanks for sharing it with us Ron!
We enjoyed our vacation on Long Island. Flying through Nassau is less crowded and quicker dealing with customs than direct flights from the US, but the airlines between the islands are prone to delays and cancellations. We had to leave a day early to make our US connection as the local airlines had to cancel our flight.
The home is lovely, kayaks were useful, Netflix was available on the television downstairs. Lots of marine life visible from the beach- turtles, rays, various fish, crabs, star fish, etc...We liked the grocery store Sea Winds- open daily and they take credit cards. Under the Sun sells fish for a reasonable price that you can grill. The Flying Fish Marina, Erica's bakery and a nice little downtown area are within a 5 minute drive.
Nancy, the caretaker, met us at the house and is accessible as needed. We hope to return.
Very relaxing vacation!
We stayed at Ron’s Harbour Villa for 10 days and felt very comfortable. The villa is very well maintained and clean, the location is exceptionally beautiful. You have a lot of privacy, there are few neighboring houses nearby, so it is not completely lonely. The Lighthouse Point Restaurant is only 5 minutes away by car, which we can also highly recommend. A big compliment to the friendly housekeeper Nancy, who always provided us with information (for example about planned power cuts).
The house is very well thought out and designed. To the front you have a fantastic sea view. The rear area of the house is open and behind fly screens, so it is also ideal for lingering and eating without being bitten by mosquitoes. We had a light breeze almost all the time, so we didn't have any major problems with mosquitoes.
We can recommend Ron's house 100%, we would be very happy to return to this beautiful place with wonderful surroundings again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Ron’s house on Lochabar Bay. Nancy, the caretaker, was wonderful. She met us and guided us to the house the first time and was responsive to any questions or needs throughout our stay. The house is well maintained and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. We had everything we needed and more. It looks just like the pictures. It is a very short drive to the Erica’s bakery or the Lighthouse Point restaurant, “On the Edge.” We enjoyed the food at “All Under the Sun” as well. Ron has placed a binder on the coffee table with tide tables and much more information, details about places and times to kayak, snorkel, food options … and more. We visited Gordon’s Beach, but actually preferred the beach at the house. We had complete privacy and were very comfortable at the beach thanks to the sturdy placements for the nice new umbrellas, lounge chairs placed near the beach and plenty of beach towels. We also appreciated having the gas grill to cook out, the sun deck and other amenities. Nice house, nice location.
If you're hesitating about this beach house, don't. The views from this house were amazing from every room. The house had everything you could possibly want or need. The walk to the beach is down a short path - it's really not bad at all and definitely worth the short walk for those amazing views from the house and deck! We saw so many sea creatures at the beach at the house: lots of rays, many turtles, tons of fish, and even a couple of sharks! It was so awesome. There is a really cool blue hole right near the house to explore, and we walked to "Hells Gate" and saw so many turtles; it was unreal! This house is in a great location for restaurants, grocery, bakery, the marina, Dean's Blue Hole, and other beaches if you want to explore Long Island. We met so many nice people while we were there - everyone was so welcoming. Ron was great with communication and offering assistance. Nancy, the caretaker, had the house in beautiful shape for our arrival and was also very helpful while we were on the island. Ron's home is beautiful, and we can't wait to visit Long Island and this beach house again soon.
Lovely house with excellent views of the ocean from every room. The kitchen was well supplied for cooking meals or if you don't want to cook anything the location of the house isn't far from some restaurants. Outstanding beach for snorkeling and collecting sand dollars (best at low tide).
Realistically, the pics don't do the house justice. The views are incredible. There's a total of one neighbor that isn't super close. So the effect is a very private escape with unibstructed views on an incredible 3/4 mile beach with nobody on it. Crazy.
This was our second time staying at Ron's home, and it was just as amazing as our first time. The views here are incredible. The landscaping around the home is beautiful and well taken care of, and Nancy has the house super clean and inviting for your arrival. We enjoyed our week here immensely and look forward to returning. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful space.
Great property, great location and has all you need to enjoy your vacation. This was our first time in the Bahamas and Ron, Nancy and Isis made us feel right at home. Thank you for such a wonderful first experience.
