The Lake Como EDITION

"The pool lounger system is the one major flaw here, and it needs fixing. Guests go out around breakfast, leave belongings on loungers, and effectively reserve them for the entire day - often while the loungers sit empty for hours. At peak times, this creates long queues, and you can expect to wait 1-2+ hours for a lounger (even though many sit empty) simply because others are hoarding spots. Management needs to enforce a clear time limit for unattended loungers and stop guests from “saving” chairs for friends or family who are not actually at the pool. The current setup is frustrating, unfair, and well below the standard of the rest of the hotel. Pool service also needs improvement. Food was delivered to the wrong guests several times, and some of our orders were incorrect. That said, we had an amazing stay overall. The rest of the property is excellent: restaurants and bars are lovely, the food and drinks are great, and the concierge, front desk, restaurant, and wider hotel staff were attentive, professional, and clearly experienced. This is a beautiful hotel with excellent service in most areas, but the pool operation is a serious weak point and should be addressed."

Staff were lovely and helpful and the meals were delicious and interesting and the setting inside and outside for dinner and breakfast were wonderful!! Thank you thank you so much!! "The stay at Rita's was amazing! It was our first time in Como and this place was perfect for our stay. Rita is very kind and knowledgable as she offered in advance to pick us up from the train station and kindly gave us a ride back down on our day of checkout. There is a lovely breakfast prepared every morning with stunning views of Como, along with a room that is exceptionally well maintained, clean, and full of amenities (including a good washing machine). While the incline is quite steep, the hotel is a quick 15 minute hike down to the main town. Varenna was definitely the best choice to stay in Como for our first time as we felt it offered the most stunning views, was not super busy and good places to eat, all within a convenient commute from this lovely stay!"

"Incredible views of the lake! Located a little further from the hustle and bustle of the town which provided us the tranquil, peaceful environment we prefer. But still close enough that we could just walk nearby to enjoy the shops, restaurants and people watching when we're in the mood. The whole property is clean and meticulously maintained. The staff were some of the nicest, most welcoming and helpful I've ever encountered. We stayed in the Tower Suite, highly recommend for its incredible views alone but everything was great. Suite was clean, bed was comfortable, recently renovated with a modern aesthetic. Amenities we enjoyed: free shuttle to and from the ferry (great if you have a lot of luggage), delicious free breakfast daily, and spa access with steam, sauna, ice and salt rooms (highly relaxing). Would stay here again without question!"

"Everything was amazing in this hotel. We had a room with a balcony facing the lake. We couldn't make use of the pool unfortunately due to the rain but we made use of the covered deck overlooking the lake instead. The hotels location is perfect, the bus from Como drops you right outside. The boats over to bellagio are less that 100m away. This hotel has everything you need around it. The staff could not do more for us"
