"Be aware that there is on street parking that requires a permit from the city of Wilmington. Red Awni ng worked with me to resolve the issue but it took some time and a few texts to make it work. The on street parking placed me a block and half from the propery. No cost but need proof of renting the space. The GPS sent you down a one way street that does not bring by the front of the property. This was a problem finding the property after dark. No climate control of the rental unit. The bed was...

"Wonderful experience! The Hotel DuPont is a lovely hotel that harkens back to the Gilded Age! Very well maintained with a friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant is very good (and elegant) and it is walking distance to all the fun bars and restaurants on Market Street. "

"The property owner was friendly but he told me this was a good neighborhood and that he’s never had any issues however I pulled into the neighborhood made the block and immediately decided we would not be staying there. I messaged him told him we would not be checking in. I lost over 1000 but as a woman traveling alone I just was not comfortable tents and people on the side walks laying around on the side walks is a no for me .. I never entered the property so I can’t speak to cleanliness or checkin process"
"Property is in disrepair and the cooling system is seriously inefficient for the weather. If fans weren't sent after fighting with the host, I would have passed out trying to stay there during the summer. The floors haven't been mopped in a while and tables/night stands had nasty stuck on dirt. The living room consist of a dirty desk chair and a broken dining room chair. The host is extremely rude and clearly only cares about how much money he is getting without realizing he needs to spend the money on upkeep like fixing leaking ceiling. The neighborhood is a giant housing projects with gang activity that roams around. I walk everywhere so that was interesting. The only positive thing I can say is that you don't hear everything the neighbors do inside their units. You hear everything outside but the walls have better sound proofing than I've dealt with in townhouses. "
"While the interior of this property looks lovely, the neighborhood is unnervingly rundown and dangerous. As a former prosecutor, I spotted criminal activity all around, including drug deals, in broad daylight. Two men approached our car on this property’s street, visibly prepared to offer to sell us drugs. I was not willing to park my new car, lest it be stolen or stripped, much less get out of the car to enter the building. We drove away and got a hotel room. Since I did not even enter the unit, I asked for a refund, or at least cleaning and insurance fee back. The owner refused. VRBO’s policy is that these relationships are between the renter and the owner, so they would not get involved. Be careful. I have tried posting some pictures of the street but I cannot figure out how to do it. You would see potholed sidewalks, boarded up windows, extremely rundown buildings, cement blocks in the street. (It would have been dangerous to try to take pictures of drug deals.) Of course poverty and neglect are not always accompanied by criminality but in this case, be extremely cautious. "
