The Brass Crab - Check in/out any day!

This charming rancher is ready to welcome you and your family. Come make memories in the cozy and relaxing space. Enjoy this redone home on large lot perfect for family games of kickball and tag after a fun day at the beach. This home sleeps 8-9 folks comfortably. It has a stocked kitchen, a dining area and living room with 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. There is an outdoor shower and foot rinse (April-November). Just added for Fall 2024: Disc Golf unit for the backyard and 8 new outdoor chairs.
The driveway can hold roughly 8 vehicles, please do not park (or drive) on the grass. This home is walking distance to the Veterans Park (.8 mile) and is away from the town's bustle. We are a 7 minute drive to the beach and roughly a 20 minute bike to the beach. The Brass Crab is set up with families in mind with child friendly spaces, bunk beds and open places to play, but can easily work for 3 couples as well.
Queen rooms are on the East side of the house, the other two bedrooms are on the west. The main living space is in the middle of the 4 bedrooms. All rooms have white noise makers and blackout curtains.
All rooms have space for a pack-n-play. A pack-n-play, portable highchair, and a diaper changing pad are available in the bunk closet. This closet also contains outdoor games and the rainy day box. We will leave these in place but recommend you clean them prior to your use.
There is 1 TV in the living room and wireless internet. We provide Prime video and Netflix.
This is a 3/4 acre lot with a large front yard and a fenced backyard. A walkway, patio, and fire pit area have been added to the outdoor space for additional fun and relaxation! You'll need to bring your own wood, and you'll want bug spray.

We had a great weekend stay! The house was great for our 2 families with a well stocked kitchen to cook, games and toys for kids, and a big yard. It was centrally located with a quick drive to the beach, restaurants, and stores. We were all comfortable and would definitely return!

Fantastic stay

Grad Celebration

Stayed here to celebrate my twin daughters high school graduation. Backyard so quiet and peaceful. Bedrooms comfortable. Very much enjoyed our stay! Excellent communication.

My family loved the house it had everything we need plus extra stuff I am not dissatisfied price was right and my entire family felt at home. The outside shower was amazing maybe it just needs to be clean just bit of stains of mud spider webs but other than that nothing but good things about this place may God bless the owners

Exactly what we were looking for

I stayed at the Brass Crab with 7 friends and we had an excellent stay. The property was in great shape and we got great use out of the huge backyard. There was plenty of space and the location was convenient to everything on the island.

Beautiful home

This was by far the best property we have stayed in with VRBO. The place was super clean, stocked, and the owners couldn’t be kinder or more responsive. The location is also close to everything. We will be back , thank you for a wonderful stay!

This was our third stay at the Brass Crab and it was absolutely lovely as always. The house is comfortable, clean, and stocked with everything you need to have a relaxing, worry-free vacation. Elizabeth and Matt are the best hosts ever!

Beautiful family friendly space!

I don’t think you could’ve asked for a better spot to stay with kiddos! But also- it was comfy, clean and roomy! We enjoyed our stay here and think that this is the best spot we’ve stayed at on the island thus far. The enclosed backyard was lovely as well as a generous sized front yard!

Home away from home!

This is our fourth year at the Brass Crab and we'd never stay anywhere else. It really is like being home but on vacation. The house is adorable, clean, and well-appointed with everything from fans to extra pillows to rainy-day games. We made s'mores by the fire pit and visited the beautiful beach every day. A wonderful experience as always.

We had a great time! Home is so nice and clean. The lay out is perfect for a larger family , Perfect size. Loved the location . So nice and quiet. Enjoyed a stop at the Island creamery and Better Food truck is amazing!!! Would love to return!

Wonderful Beach House for (multigenerational) Family Vacation

We really enjoyed our time on the Island at the Brass Crab and are looking forward to booking the house again in the future! The owner is wonderful and kind and answered any questions that I had. Everything was very nice, clean and comfortable. The parking was great and the fenced in back yard was wonderful as well. So many nice little details were included in the house that made the trip even better. Thanks again so much for everything!

Pony Swim Week

The house was lovely. Everything as advertised. It was close to Pony Swim lane, so we were able to walk over to watch the ponies swim and march from there to the fairgrounds. The back yard was great, too. Lots of space for kids to run around as well as a great picnic set up.

As perfect as it gets

It was our family vacation and we loved the house. It is charming, inviting, so easy to live in. Kitchen has anything you would ever need, and who can beat comfortable mattresses and blackout curtains at night. We loved the quiet neighborhood, the outdoor shower and the yard for the kids, and all the little touch throughout the house that made us feel like home. Thank you to our host for a wonderful stay. Great house, great town

We had so much fun! The house had plenty of space and was so well appointed. Right down the road from Beebe Ranch. Owner was responsive and very kind. The locals in this town are the best!! Our children had a great time and my friend and I did as well. We will be back!

Very comfortable with great outdoor space!

The house was very clean and nicely equipped with everything we needed. Although it was too cold to be outside much, the yard is huge and would be wonderful to spend time in during warmer weather. We could have easily had twice the number of people, but the four of us enjoyed the extra space. Great collection of extra books and games! The location was convenient for driving to the Nature Refuge and boat tour starting point.

Brass Crab

It was a great experience. The kids had a great yard to play in. Everything is there you would need to get started. I would suggest some dish towels, plastic containers with tops to put food in. Get a new vacuum! Really enjoyed it.

A lovely little spring break!

I had visited Chincoteague with college friends years ago & when we were thinking about a place for a short stay while kids had off for Easter break, looked into it. A lovely home, fit us perfectly and location was great! The house had everything we would have needed -we didn’t cook but everything was there if we had ;) Loved the sound machines and room darkening shades- usually an issue with some rentals. Games were a plus too! Highly recommend this sweet home!

Lovely property!

Four friends spending a few days on the coast. The house was perfect as we each had our own room, and the rooms are spacious. One room had its own bathroom which was a bonus! We really appreciated the thought that went into all the items the house had stocked for the kitchen. We even found extra batteries for the clock and TV remote. We didn't have children in our party, but it looks like it is well thought out for them as well. Thank you!

Great getaway

We loved the quaint charm of the home combined with the convenience to the local attractions. We were there to enjoy hiking, ponies, and time with friends, and this residence was a perfect accommodation for us. The host communication was timely and accurate in all accounts. We had More privacy than a hotel, more convenient for together times, a nice backyard to enjoy a fire pit, a barbecue, a toss of a ball with the kids, or a glass of wine at sunset. We loved our stay. Thanks ! One and only low note was that we couldn’t find a find a pen anywhere to sign the cute guest register, LOL! We will catch it next time but I promise we have only good memories of our stay. :-)

Just what we needed

The Brass Crab is located minutes from all the highlights of Chincoteague. The house is cute and quaint, but don’t be fooled- there is plenty of room for large families or even a group of friends/couples. The yard is wonderful for kids. We spent a lot of time out back playing baseball after dinner and before heading out to ice cream at the Island Creamery. All in all, we had a wonderful stay at the Brass Crab, chincoteague is wonderful and relaxing and it was just what our family needed before heading back to school. *I would recommend an industrial size door mat at the front door to catch dirt and sand from the beach and yard*

Girls' Trip

We had a great time at the Brass Crab!! The house was just as described. I was a little nervous that it would be too small for our group of 8; however, that wasn't at all the case. The layout of the home worked well with the bedrooms in the corners of the home and the common areas in the middle. The outdoor area was perfect to enjoy the nice October weather, and the outdoor shower was wonderful. The beds were comfortable although I do recommend bringing your own pillows as the ones provided were very thin. We went to Oyster Festival, which was held at Tom's Cove Park, and were able to walk, which was a huge benefit to us. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this rental to anyone looking to visit the island, especially if you'll be attending any events at Tom's Cove Park. I didn't interact with the owner during our stay as there was no reason to - all detailed information provided in the check-in instructions were accurate, there was a list on the fridge that had additional information, and the house was as promised. I did exchange a few emails shortly after booking; my questions were immediately and clearly answered. I would not hesitate to stay here again if I find myself back in the area!
