Property accepted my booking but failed to advise that theyvare tuening the properrt into apartmenta and my booking was pretty much non-existent. Glad I paid thru paypal. Overall a major headache, disappointment and unnecessary dramatic situation that took too long to resolve. I ended up booking with Embassy Suites directly. I only picked Sonesta because i had a good experience with this property before. However, they should not be a cepting bookinga that they can not honor, especially if the property is being converted from suites to apartments.

The worst all time , do not stay here !!
This was the worst ever. I get there and I have to call # and wait outside for someone to open door for check in. I’m checking in and the lady says, we don’t have any services, I’m the only one here, there will be no housekeeping anything. Whatever, I go to my suite and there are dirty towels on floor, again whatever, so I decide to go and buy a few things, I notice the door did not lock, someone had taped the lock so door would stay open, do I call upfront and she says just take it off. Weird, I leave and I comeback to find roof smelling like pot and mud marks all over the floor. I’m like ??? I call and they out me in another suite, no dish soap, no towels, no glasses, nothing, I went out and brought everything, pans to cook, sponge to wash dishes, they had a roll of toilet paper in kleenex dispenser, I stood there 7 days, was visiting family. There was no wifi for 5 days, had to use my hotspot, I called upfront and they gave me a 1800 #, called 8 times, while there various days, opened up trouble tickets, never once got a call back like they said they would. When someone went into my suite 1st day, she offered a comp night, funny I never seen in, typical of how this stay was, I have text back and forth where they never even responded, I would never ever stay or recommend this place, there was yelling outside, arguments, trash bins would not get emptied. I don’t write reviews, but this experience was the worst, spent a lot of many to stay in this unsafe dump !!

The hotel doesnt exist. Showed up and it was being converted to apartment buildings. Need to find new place for our family christmas

Many of the reviews are over critical in my opinion. No doubt this property needs work but their business model is changing so things you would expect from hotel service is no longer in their wheelhouse. Overall I give it an okay.

This hotel was the most disgusting place I have ever seen. I had my wife and kid with me and we instantly walked out and went to a different hotel. They didn’t want to give me a refund either even though I did not stay in. The bed had no sheets, pillows where yellow, the shower had no curtain, the kitchen was so nasty and dirty, the toilet had poop stains all over and there was barely any toilet paper. DO NOT GO HERE AND WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

This hotel use to be nice . Now they are converting to apartment complexes and the place is Reagan’s. My room was not cleaned from whoever previously were there. I called the staff and asked for another room and she told me your only option is to get a refund and check out. LIKE IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT YOUR GUEST? the door didn’t completely lock or anything in the nature. This was the worse stay. Paying almost $700 for a room with service like this should be against the law!

We were in town for business. When getting to the hotel there a note on door saying hours are Monday thru Friday 8 to 4. If checking in after hours please call a number. We called the number & the lady that answered was very nice & friendly. There were three of us & the room was for 4 people. There were no extra blankets, towels items for the kitchen. We called the number again & someone else answered & said that’s not our problem our hours are only Monday through Friday 8 to 4. Plus they didn’t mention when making reservation that they were now apartments.

Warning. This property is transitioning out of the hotel business to become an apartment complex. The property needs to be taken off hotels.com. They no longer have breakfast or bathroom products or cleaning like a hotel. Even if they are going to do a hotel reservation, they want a 7-night minimum.

The property has been converted to apartment suites and is not primarily a hotel anymore. I had booked 3 weeks before my stay and had other communications with the property during those weeks, and yet, nobody mentioned this change to me. They reached out with a phone call to me on the day I was scheduled to arrive at the location and left me a voicemail, which I did not receive since I was travelling. For my actual stay, the suite was not as clean as I would expect. There were shoe prints on the entryway tiled floor, garbage from the previous guests still in the can under the sink, leftover cup noodle bits in the kitchen sink, a used bar of soap at the bathroom sink, bits of powdered soap(?) by the bathroom sink, no bath towels nor face towels, and a used towel of some sort hanging from the shower curtain rod. My stay in Lombard was for business and I was working late most days so the office was always closed by the time I was back in the evening. I had reached out to the property with my complaints via the Sonesta website immediately after returning home, but have not received any response after several weeks.

The overall stay was ok meanwhile there were no hotel staffs. So we couldn’t get any towels or anything during our stay. And during check out time the hotel was closed with no one there to accommodate our needs. The sheets were dirty and all. Only thing was clean is the carpet.

From the outside this looks like a fairly decent place. Don't be fooled! Once in my room it was absolutely disgusting! Stains all over the carpet and 2 decent sized stains that appeared fo be blood. Holes in the walks, lots of gnats in the room, and mold growing in the vent! The box spring was broke down and the door was difficult to get closed. Then I woke up at 1:00 a.m. to someone in the building blasting music. The whole experience was pretty awful.

It was nice to have a kitchen with some cookware and dinnerware. The first TV I had did not have the cable channels included as advertised, so they needed to replace the whole dresser to replace the TV. Carpet didn't seem to be very clean, as it felt like there was some film or something in it whenever I walked around. Staff was friendly and helpful though, I would stay there again if needed.

STAY AWAY! This is not a place to bring your family. It is by far the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at in the US. Stains on all furniture, there was fast food and chips inside of the pullout bed. FILTHY!!!

This was supposed to be an 8.2 rated extended stay facility with breakfast and a full kitchen and we were supposed to have a 5-night stay. No breakfast. Two tiny towels were paper thin. One fork, two spoons. No housekeeping. Noise from the people in the room above ours was loud and ongoing all day and night so we could not sleep. No desk clerk at night. We left a day early because of the conditions. Found out they are transitioning from a hotel to apartments and the hotel clientele suffers greatly.

the location was very convenient, but the hotel itself needed quite a bit of updating. We had no hot water for two days, the toilet ran, and shower head and door handles were falling off. Also the carpets were dirty, but for the price it was ok. the front desk was very accommodating, and they did help us by giving us another room. I don’t think I’d stay at another Sonesta property.

This Sonesta has been sold to a franchisee who is gradually turning the suites into long-stay accommodation. There is no breakfast (though advertised), no meeting facilities, no facilities as such. The promotional blurb is thoroughly misleading.

The room was dirty. There was a plastic bag over the smoke alarm that I called about and no one removed. The sink was filthy, tub and shower curtain dirty. Cobwebs in every corner. Carpet full of nasty looking stains.

Pleasant suite. Bed was comfortable but sofa was not at all. Overall the suite was clean, except floor and carpet which were dirty - my socks were filthy from walking around the apartment.

We've stayed at this property before and had a good experience. However, the maintenance and amenities have since been downgraded. Our room was poorly ventilated; the only window was sealed and the bath fan moved no air. Consequently, the towels (and carpet) never dried. However, the property wants $10 to change out the linen. Bring your own soap because the body wash and conditioner dispensers have been removed. The pool has been shut down and breakfast is no longer provided. Our room had been smoked in. The ground fault outlet at the sink was scorched and unsafe.
