Nice lobby/entrance. Staff were pleasant enough. Felt crowded. Small lobby with lots of people, small elevators that make a racket going up and down, narrow halls, small rooms. The halls looked and felt suffocating. They painted over some things that were in need of repair so it felt a bit cheap. Hallway was a bit choppy with doors in odd places. Snack machine and ice machine were convenient. Opened the room door and could smell bleach. That was nice for me but others may not agree. The base of the bed was beat up and my thought was - not shabby chic - just shabby. Sheets were cotton - yay! They were a little rough, but the room was clean enough. Shower was great. It was a bit noisy, but in the city you sort of expect that. No breakfast, but coffee and fruit was available 6am-11am. Small area in bathroom to use around the sink. Daily room refresh upon request. Would have loved to have found a soda machine, but no luck. Grabbed some juice from CVS down the street and put it in the fridge during my stay. Bottled/canned water in the room was $5 to drink, choice of sparkling or still. Good alarm clock and it had space to plug in and charge devices, but that’s the only place. Tv was large but was a little disappointing in selections. Never connected to the internet.

honestly this place wasn’t bad. fairly clean. tv never worked. wifi was slow. however, one thing I’m extremely upset about is that I was told we would be getting charged taxes a $75 refundable security deposit and an additional urban nightly fee which would be charged every night. Come to find out when checking out. The urban nightly fee was also taxed, which felt like a scam so I had to pay an additional $75 which kind of felt like they were just charging me the security deposit and hiding how they were charging it. This was not disclosed to me when booking and this was not disclosed to me from the hotel when I called and asked specifically about the charge. please keep in mind that you will be charged not only the urban nightly fee but taxes on top of that and the room every night.

Staff was great, accommodating our early arrival by holding our bags in a safe location. Overall it’s a nice place - coffee bar with some beers in the fridge. It was expensive, but it was an eventful weekend in the city, so not as expensive as other places. Location was great for what we needed. Two things we didn’t like: shower head holder was broken, making for a cumbersome shower experience; the bed frame stuck out at the corner and I caught my shin on it twice walking around the bed, even thinking I was avoiding it. We would stay there again.

The hotel was doing some refurbishment when I arrived. But it was finished the next day. The room was spacious and had a nice view north. The location was perfect. Close to everything in River North. The one thing I noted was thin walls. I could hear most everything in the next room. It’s an older hotel so that could be expected. The bed was comfy. I loved the bath products. They smelled very nice. Overall a very solid choice for the price!
