The hotel computer got hacked and sent a message through Expedia’s chat system and scammed me of £180. These things happen unfortunately, but the hotel couldn’t care less, never asked me for any details, just said contact bank. No “sorry”/“drink on the house” or anything. The room’s walls and doors where paper thin - could hear every conversation in the rooms next door, above and in the corridor, plus all the doors slamming shoot. Not a great anniversary stay. I’d mentioned to the hotel in advance it was anniversary-they said they were honoured we’d chosen to celebrate at their hotel… evidently not as there was no welcome, or even a note in our room - very poor service. Food and service in the pub was nice though.

I loved this property, from the minute I walked into reception to walking out everything was just brilliant, used the spa facilities which were a nice treat and ate in bother the bistro and the main restaurant which were both superb! Our room was something special and really had the wow factor. Will definitely be visiting again

A really excellent hotel experience. Bar and restaurant really top quality. Rooms modern and spotlessly clean. Dinner at Palm Court restaurant excellent value for money and top quality. Breakfast was a bit basic .

Very disappointing 2nd stay
We stayed here for 2 nights last year and it was fab, so fab in fact that we decided to come again this year! Sadly this time it didn’t impress. Check in was frustrating, we’d been emailed by the hotel to ask what time we expected to arrive, and we said 2pm, so only an hour earlier than standard check in, but when we arrived we were greeted by a young receptionist that went off to check on our room only to be told to come back at 3….apparently according to housekeeping they started half an hour late as so many people were checking out later than they should. That said our room was nearly last to be cleaned so why ask the question about early check in if there was no priority in cleaning rooms? Secondly, we were on a dinner bed and breakfast tariff, so I decided to add the extra and have sirloin steak….well I managed about a quarter of it before I gave in, no-one wants to saw through tough beef with chewy fat on it. No-one came to check if all was ok mid meal so by the time they collected our plates it was too late to do anything about it. To be fair they took it off the bill, but at £35 it should have been better, and I ended up going to bed hungry. This trip cost £340 for one night, and to be honest it just wasn’t good enough! The manager did apologise, but it doesn’t make up for a huge bill and a ruined night..

Breakgast was expensive and terrible. Cold clammy food left on a hot plate, slow service, inefficient and completely underwhelming. They refusrd to even replace croussant or coffee cups at 4 minutes past 10 am.Shame because the hotel itself was lively.

My partner and I had a one night stay and found the hotel and staff fantastic we had a meal at the plan court which was beautiful I can only say that it was one of the best experiences we have shared and would recommend to any couple that want to have a relaxing and peaceful break in an absolutely fantastic setting 6 stars all round

I didn’t get the offer of an upgraded room as a gold member.when I asked they said a charge of £20 would be applied which I refused to pay. How ever on getting into my room I realised that the bed sheet/duvet cover had not been changed from the last occupant. I when back to the reception and complained. At this point they gave me an upgraded room
