Going downhill
We have stayed in this hotel several times but has gone downhill. It was always nice , smooth , no problems at all. This tome the bathroom was dirty , the lights stopped working , and a group of loud kids were in joinng room.

The room was fairly clean and comfortable. The curtains didn’t provide much privacy. Lots of noise can be heard from the parking lot and a strange knocking noise in the middle of the night/morning. Front desk service could be more friendly and welcoming.

Our overall experience with this hotel was okay. While the hotel staff were very nice the breakfast, odor in hallways and outdoor activity were not appealing.

Property is old but well taken care of. In good location near downtown and food. Breakfast had all the basics & hot coffee. all the staff offered excellent customer service with lots of smiles.

The first room we were put into, the door did not lock except from the inside so we had to change rooms. The next room had hair in the sink and on the floor and did not have a stopper in the bathroom sink. The internet was down for 6 hours during our first day there. There were gnats flying around.

Try not to kill yourself while showering, no grip on the floor makes it hard to not fall. The room smelled like 50 years of cigarettes, it was very noisy. We were extremely unhappy here.

I had to reservations and I asked for my double room to be a handicap and it wasn't. I had trouble with the air in that room. Plus it was hard to locate the reservation for my other room.

The carpet appears as the original since being a Hilton property. Very sticky and dirty!! Towels and linens are very old and worn out. The hotel needs a complete overhaul.

We stayed two nights. It was very below average. You could tell it all needed a good cleaning. The breakfast was not good on the first morning and was late and not good the second morning. The pool was clean and working. The guy who worked mornings at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. The worst thing about the whole experience was the smell. There is a smell throughout the hotel that is really bad, including in the room, that smells like a mix of fried food,smoke, and must. Like I said, it needs a deep deep clean. We bought air freshener for the room to get away from the odor.

They originally gave me a room that was already occupied. After some time on the phone, they upgraded me to a suite. The room was clean and a good size, but my TV had no reception. On a Saturday night, when I returned to my room around 10 pm, there was a drunken man wandering the hallway. Later around 1:30 am, there was knocking on my door and talking in the hallway. Some guy didn’t know what room he was in.

Although a no pet policy - 2 dogs were barking for 2 hours. I reported to night clerk - who said they were service animals. If truly service animals shouldn’t have been alone in their rooms without their owners. Very noisy also with kids running in halls and people, including staff smoking and talking out front of hotel which was near my room. Breakfast was fair - first day out of orange juice, yogurt and fresh fruit. Better next 2 days. TV very limited channels. Carpets need shampooing in halls and rooms. A drunk man was wandering hall Saturday night trying to find his room on all 2nd floor rooms - his actual room was on first floor! He even peed in hallway since he couldn’t get into a room in time. Staff at desk mostly friendly and helpful - except for second night (Friday). My message light was constantly blinking but there were no messages. He couldn’t turn off light on phone - so I went 2 nights with light blinking near my bed. Linens OK. Rather worn. Bed comfortable. No maid service during stay - but they would provide free linen exchange.

Lady at front desk was very rude and her phone was more important than checking customers in. When going to second floor it felt like the top floor is swaying. When woke up the whole floor beside me was soaking wet from the ac unit.

I arrived at this hotel at 1:25am. I booked this hotel and spoked to the front desk around 5pm to confirm that i would be able to check in at 1am. There was absolutely nobody at the front desk when i arrived. After waiting over an hour, this guy casually came out and asked was i checking in. This dude had on regular clothes all nonchalant like, heres your key. I finally get in the room and, this room is dirty AF! It smells musty, had lipstick on one of the beds, tv remote doesn't work, just all bad. Then when i finally figured out how to get the tv on, the first thing i see is a roach running from the light! The employees that came in the morning were much more helpful and professional. They did what they could to make it a lil better.

Don't stay at Best Western Kilmarnock!
We came for the 4th of July holiday weekend, and the stay at this hotel was poor. But what most concerns us, and why I am making the effort to write this, is that we stayed 2 nights, and both mornings we woke in the room feeling lousy-headache, body ache, unrested, disoriented. We felt so lousy the 2nd morning, that we canceled the rest of our vacation plans and drove the three hours home. My husband said he felt so bad that he wasn't sure he could stay away to drive home. We reported this to the front desk when we checked out, and asked to speak to a manager. We were told there was no manager on duty until July 5th, which seemed surprising since it was a holiday weekend. He told me to call her on the 5th. I did that and everyday since, finally getting her, and her only response was not an apology for the bad experience, but that I should have called on Monday the 3rd and why had I waited 3 days to call her. I asked for a discount on our bill, and she has never responded. I called and reported her and the hotel to Best Western Corporate who is investigating. The Air Quality was really bad in the room we stayed in. I have since reported it to the County Health Department who is investigating it. The hotel seemed uncared for, understaffed that didn't seem to care about anything. Additionally there was a banging/tapping on our room wall all night the 2nd night. We thought it was the neighbors but in the morning their room was being cleaned and the noise persisted -

The location was good for the occasion. However, I purchased two non smoking rooms. It was very evident that one of the rooms had been used for a smoker. It smelled awful.
