"The breakfast area was terrible. Eggs were bad. Milk in a picture, not in a milk carton for safety reasons. Not enough fruit selection. No meat. I would not stay there again. When I got there (approximately 3:30 pm) there was nobody around to get checked in, I end up calling him on a house phone. Ridiculous……."
"The staff was friendly. The rooms were plain, beds very uncomfortable and loud. The walls however were paper thin. I could hear the guests above us conversation. Wouldn’t stay here again. "
"We arrived Saturday AM to Rockford for a soccer tournament and our morning game was canceled at the last minute. Maria was amazing and let us check in early rather than make us wait until 3pm. It was a life saver!"
"I would not recommend this hotel. I checked in on March 15 and left immediately after seeing the condition of the room.
The bed was dirty with hair on it, there were ants in the bathroom, and it was obvious the room had not been properly cleaned. On top of that, some of the outlets didn’t work. The entire room felt unsanitary and uncomfortable.
I went to the front desk right away to cancel, and they told me they couldn’t switch my room and that I would need to dispute the charge with my bank.
I ended up leaving that same night and booking somewhere else. I did not stay here at all. The staff was absolutely horrible.
Very disappointing experience."
Riverview Inn & Suites, an Ascend Collection Hotel
6/10 Okay
"The staff is friendly and check in was easy. The renovated rooms are nice and I felt like they were clean. There was some wear and tear on some of the furniture. There was a coffee maker but no water to use in it. No vending machines on the floors to buy water. The breakfast however was awful. No juices, sausage was totally out. There were biscuits but no butter. Potatoes were not good. There was some kids yogurt and some cereal.. A gallon of milk. Needless to say, we didn't eat it and we left. Worst breakfast I have had in a hotel ever. So we paid 30 bucks to get breakfast somewhere else. Luckily, we were only there a night. The elevator needed major cosmetic work. The outside of it had paint peeling off. There is a lot easy maintenance that could go on but hasn't. Didn't use the pool so unsure how that area was. Overall it was ok but alot of money for what we got. Wont book again. "
"We had a perfect weekend. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and spotless, and the staff is kind, welcoming, and extremely helpful. Our room was big, clean, and comfortable, and we loved being able to fold up the couch bed so my four year old daughter could play. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the couch bed was great as well. My four year old had a blast playing with Daddy in the lovely pool area. The pool was clean and the perfect temperature, and the hot tub was just the right kind of hot. Breakfast was amazing, featuring plenty of eggs, meat of cheese, various breads, waffles, cereals, milk and juice, among other things. Our vegan family member was thrilled that plant based sausages were offered, along with oatmeal and fruit, both fresh and dried. We didn't have time to use the fire pit and grill areas, but they looked fun. We also loved that Aldi and other stores were right across the street. Made it easy to bring back groceries to use for making meals in the full kitchen. It doesn't have a stove, but they gave us a hot plate and pan at the front desk, and it worked great! The only unexpected event was the historic storms in the area, featuring tornados and baseball sized hail! But I don't think we can blame the hotel for that! We have visited the area for a weekend for the past eight months, and this was our family's favorite hotel we have stayed in.Thank you for the magical weekend with our daughter! We highly recommend Home2Suites in Beloit! "
