"Nice oasis, relaxing , nice surrounding. The place could use a bit of TLC ( tender loving care). The diner was good the breakfast very disappointing."

8/10 Good
"If you plan to stay in the area, it is hard to beat this unique place Nice views make sure to reserve ahead of time at the restaurant if you plan to eat - it is probably the best restaurant in the area and was very good. I had a sweet and it was huge with six rooms. Very restful night. Nicely lit up at night. Only issue would be somewhat musty smell, which I think is just a product of the type of accommodation"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Chenini?
The best area to stay in Chenini is within the ancient Ksar itself, offering a truly distinctive experience. This area is the historic centre, perched high on a hilltop, and is made up of a collection of traditional granaries (ghorfas) that have been meticulously restored. You'll find yourself amidst the original architecture, with narrow pathways winding between structures crafted from local stone. It's a wonderfully quiet and pedestrian-friendly environment, with the stunning panoramic desert views being a constant feature. For couples, staying directly within the Ksar provides an incredibly romantic and memorable retreat. The unique accommodation options offer privacy and a sense of stepping back in time, superb for a peaceful escape. Evenings here are particularly special, with clear skies superb for stargazing away from any light pollution.Solo travellers will also find the Ksar an excellent choice. It offers a unique opportunity to experience traditional Berber culture firsthand, with opportunities to interact with local residents.
When is the best time to go to Chenini?
The best time to go to Chenini is during the shoulder seasons of spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) when the weather is most agreeable.During these months, the daytime temperatures are pleasantly mild, typically ranging from 20 to 28 degrees Celsius, making it ideal for exploring the historic ksar and the surrounding desert landscape. You'll find the conditions comfortable for hiking up to the mosque at the top of the village or wandering through the ancient granaries without the intense heat of summer.Travellers looking for an active exploration of the area will particularly appreciate these months. The cooler temperatures make activities like guided walks through the village, exploring the troglodyte dwellings, and visiting nearby desert oases much more enjoyable. It's also a good time for photography, with clear skies and softer light. While the winter months (December to February) are also mild, they can be a bit cooler, especially in the evenings.
