"A great historic and beautifully restored Chateau. Large comfortable bedroom with AC which was great as temperatures were 10 to 20
Degrees above seasonal averages. N"
" Nice styled petached property with everything you need and beautiful park.
- Although the park states everywhere for leasure only, no work vans allowed on site, there were builders onsite, sitting outside till midnight and then waking us up at 6am with the large van running its engine on the spot, waiting for various people to be picked up. "
"Very warm welcome feom the hotels reception staff member, nomlift bit its just a one floor then it should not be a problem, car park by the hotel is great, just mind that if you come out after 8 pm then ise your room key to open the main entrance,i was not told and luckily i guessed. "Communication from the start was excellent. A couple days before arrival I received contact to enquire about arrival time. As we would be arriving late we were advised how to get our key, with full directions and pictures to make it easy to arrive without disturbing others. When we got into the room, it was lovely and thoughtfully put together, however there were no towels at all - a quick message later and this was resolved with profuse apologies (& and extra little packets of nougat!)
The room was large and comfortable, love the modern style within the traditional barn type building. Kettle and mini fridge were provided in room, along with tea & coffee (no milk though) as well as a mini bottle of wine and welcome nougat pieces - very thoughtful and kind.
Bed really comfortable and room dark and quiet - excellent.
Breakfast was quite basic but had cereal, bread, cheese/ham and some fruits.
The owner was on hand to welcome everyone in and kept items restocked and tidy throughout.
She was really friendly and helpful upon check-out, apologising for the building work going on around - they are expanding with extra holiday homes as well as an on-site restaurant.
Overall lovely stay for a night as we passed through."
"An incredible option for a value for money stay in Venlo. You may not get a pool, or a restaurant etc. but you do get all that you actually need and nothing more. No unnecessary frills just the basics done superbly well. A spacious room, decent shower room/toilet/wash-basin etc. Huge tv on the wall opposite the bed.
What you do get is location! Sited very close to the railway station, and a 5 ionise walk to the town centre with its array of squares, bars, restaurants, cafés, etc. Shopping is amazing too.
Town centre is pedestrianised so it's great for a stroll in the evening and in the day too.
Hotel offers complementary pastries and coffee etc. in the morning, and you can have a seat on the terrace out front to have breakfast, or just a beer/coffee.
Staff are super nice and welcoming.
And all of this comes at a very reasonable price.
You get what you want, pay only for what you really need, and don't have to stump up for stuff you just don't need.
All in all the best value/quality balance for a stay in Venlo."

"The customer service is non existent- absolutely awful experience.
The hotel offers a late check in after reception hours which we requested ahead of time. Their policy is to email over the lockbox code and side map on the day of arrival. We did not receive this and had a local friend call to ask, in Dutch, for it to be sent. They said they “had been very busy but would send it shortly.” They never did. We sent three messages through this app, called twice and emailed once directly- no response. Which resulted in a huge amount of stress as we had been travelling all day with two small children and were unable to get into the accommodation we had booked and paid for. Thankfully, we found a staff member out who was able to help but it took almost 45 minutes for us to get in.
No response or apology from the hotel at all- our messages have still not been replied to.
The next day we went in to reception to book and pay for a towel package- were told the towels would be dropped off in our accommodation later in the day. Came in after a long day of exploring- no towels. Had to go back again the next day to ask a second time.
Then on our last night, we arrived back to the accommodation late after a day at Efteling. Couldn’t drive through the barrier to access our cottage. Tried texting the what’s app number- no reply. Informed the next day barriers shut at 11 pm- again we’re not given this info upon check in. Had to carry a disabled child through the dark to get there. "
You can study the exhibits at Limburgs Museum, a museum with a story of its own, during your holiday in Venlo. While you're in the area, wander around the gardens.
