"Great location and hotel"

"Quality of breakfast was poor and not refilled. Ceiling was falling down in small batches. "

"The breakfast was a huge disappointment. The pastry which was dry, cold and had tiny bits of sausage was terrible. Paying $350-400 per night we expected better. But the biggest irritation was seeing a $2800 charge on my credit card. The room was $1388 for 4 night. It took 3 people at the hotel to get an explanation. The explanation made no sense. It was to insure that extras would be paid!!!! We travel 100 days a year for many years. This was not only a first but nobody had a good explanation; including the manager. Bottom line plenty of elegant hotels in Charleston; avoid the Restoration."

"Staff was so nice. Property is so outdated. Bathrooms are OLD. No water pressure. HVAC made noise as if the fan was giving out. Very old, tired, stale, outdated. Looks as if last updated in 1985"

"Perfect location, well decorated. Room was clean and staff was very personable and accommodating. Needs upgrades—stains on hallway carpets, rust on showerhead, stain on headboard. Good stay but expensive based on the wear and tear. "
